OU vs Houston

I was underwhelmed with the LIttrell hire, and equally with the co-coordinator hire of Joe Jon. Additionally, I'm not impressed with having a staff half full of former OU players. I want some ideas from all over, not just from within OU's way of doing things. One of the reasons I liked the DC hire.

In fairness to LIttrell, we are playing our FOURTH TEAM CENTER. He's young, inexperienced and not that great. I don't care how hard a guy tries, and what a good player he is in the locker room. To me, we've had one great OL recruit in the last few years. He spent one year here, then went to Mizzou. If no injury happens, he'll be a great player on Sundeys. We had two quality tackles last year, Both came in the portal. Seemingly, 80 to 90% of OUr best OLine guys over the years, came in the portal. The best in my view, we wouldn't have gotten, if not for an SEC rule that for some reason kept him from going to his choice. He was only a three star.. Orlando Brown. But his presence chanced the view of OUr OLine almost immediately when he entered the lineup. And he made a few bucks in the NFL.

With Bedenbaugh's rep, we out to do better in OL recruiting.

And all these WR injuries have made our offense FCS like. I'm wondering if we'll score 20 offensive points in any conference game. Seriously.

I do think that last week i practice, there was probably some cruising by players who thought that walloping Temple was a big deal. And I think Houston will be a lot better than their first game against UNLV showed. We'll see. I know they'll be well coached before the end of the season. But except for 2001, when injuries devastated that OL, I don't remember an OU offense since Boo Blake was HC, and we changed offensive schemes three time per year.
