Is Mayfield not a junior?OU will be breaking in a new QB and most likely another running back will be needed. That's just for starts.
Baker will be back next year, as will Perine and Mixon.OU will be breaking in a new QB and most likely another running back will be needed. That's just for starts.
lol bama what are you talking about?OU will be breaking in a new QB and most likely another running back will be needed. That's just for starts.
Alabama is losing a lot of players next season.
lol bama what are you talking about?
I understood, perfectly...Please leave it up, Okla...We need the smile this chilly Tuesday!LMAO. I was reading the 2017 SEASON rather than playoffs. I'm turning 70 this year so have me a pass. Haha. I will delete my post.

You are probably right R1950. I thought they would fall off this year because of the QB situation but they seem to just keep on truckin. Surely it can't last forever but to have a feeling they might just keep reloading. They lose a ton every year. Something tells me they'll just reload and be right in the thick of it again. I really believe that losing a ton of players every year to the NFL HELPS the program in the long run. I know that sounds crazy but super talented young high school prospects see that and can't wait to get to play for those programs envisioning themselves as someday being good enough to leave early. I've attached 247's composite/average (Scout, Rivals, ESPN and their own) 4-year recruiting rankings and the top teams have all won NCs the last few years and are recruiting at the top again this year. So I guess that old "losing a lot of players" can be misleading at times.

Thank You, Good Friend! I know that drill~Okay, Senior. I will for you but with an edit note. Otherwise I may read it tomorrow and not realize what I did. Hey, it is what it is.

Alabama will remain in the mix for a championship run as long as Nick Saban is the head coach. He gets the best players and can flat out coach. Unless he leaves Bama, he will win one or two more probably. But he may leave one day when know one would expect it. He's hard to figure.
I still wouldn't count him out on going to Texas. It sounds like he was almost there by a whisker, and he prefers rebuilding rather than repeating. He also thinks it would be cool to be the first to coach 3 different schools to titles.
I wouldn't mind him going to Texas. It might be the right kick in our pants that we need.
But doesn't OU have the best coaching staff in the country?Alabama will remain in the mix for a championship run as long as Nick Saban is the head coach. I think you are on the right track, JCon. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if those rumors didn't start again. The only question....at 64, is Saban willing to start over again? I guess it depends on how much longer he wants to coach and/or how much sooner he wants to win another championship. If he is anxious he will stay put at Alabama, but he seems to be as you say, willing to take a chance on winning at another school and Texas would give him anything for him try and do so in Austin.
I think you've hit the key point Oklabama with Saban: he's 64 and probably doesn't want to start all over again. He's already secured his spot in CF history and has all the money he needs. Why leave a state he'll forever be king in. I would just about bet any amount of money that he retires from Alabama.
I was being sarcastic bama. OU obviously doesn't have the best staff in the country. Part of a coaching staffs responsibility is to recruit the best players to their program and we haven't done this well enough in many years now. You give Saban 3 years at OU and I bet he is playing for a NC.It doesn't appear so, but then the only difference may be Bob's inability to sign the number of quality recruits that Nick Saban can. It would be very interesting to see how Bob could do with the likes of this year's Alabama squad.
I was being sarcastic bama. /QUOTE]
I knew where you were coming from, Barking. LOL.
Lol, I think it's pretty obvious Saban and the Alabama staff are by far the best in the country, then every other staff in the country are fighting for a distant 2nd.But doesn't OU have the best coaching staff in the country?
Alabama was fortunate that the SEC was unusually weak this season but got better as the season progressed.
The Tide are simple: With Saban they'll be in the hunt every season.
what defines a team as top tier? I would have loved to played Bama instead of Clemson. Bottom line the team is close...now not to go backwards.Agree, bc...
Also, Excellence Breeds Excellence. With 'Bama's NCs and Winning Ways, they'll continue to have their pick of Top-Tier-Players to fill out their Top-Tier-Teams, and their Record will become even MORE Legendary. That leads me to question, 'Are WE any longer Top Tier?' I'm tired of 'Settling'...
Lol, I think it's pretty obvious Saban and the Alabama staff are by far the best in the country, then every other staff in the country are fighting for a distant 2nd.
Ya you're right. Urban doing it at two different programs puts him pretty damn high. Saban and Urban are top two, then yep a pretty big drop off to the rest of the field.Urban and Ohio State are up there too. He and Saban are unquestionably the best two coaches that head up an elite program. Right now there appears to be a big spread between the top two and 3 on down.
I agree Bama. Those two guys seem to be heads and shoulders about everyone else. I think Dabo has is rolling pretty good at Clemson right now as well. Give him time and I wouldn't be surprised to see him win a NC within the next few years. He seems to be one heck of a recruiter and I bet he was also an awesome real estate agent.Urban and Ohio State are up there too. He and Saban are unquestionably the best two coaches that head up an elite program. Right now there appears to be a big spread between the top two and 3 on down.
Bama is this the way they line up all the time or was it simply a mistake? Whatever the case, great coaching to be able to identify that weakness and exploit it.Yeah, I would have liked to have seen Dabo win last night, but I was expecting Alabama to win... Just not like they did. It was a terrific game, but the way Clemson lines up on kickoffs leaving one side of the field completely vacant from hash lines the side lines cost them two big plays. The great onside kick and the kickoff return, IMO. Saban had to see that on film and found a way to capitalize on it. Again, coaching.
If this is getting pinned I better put in my 2 1/2 cents.
I was going to post something unruly but I decided against it because I don't want to get banned. I was going to say bob stoops is like sooner tulsan in high school. He will blow one he shouldn't.
I deleted it though because I like sooner tulsan and I wouldn't want to offend him, especially in such a vulger way. He doesn't deserve it and I'm better than that.
Anyhoo...you guys lose the cactus bowl.
OU sits at 7-1 odds to win it all next year, tied with Clemson for second.
Alabama is 6-1.
So even Vegas agrees with me.
