OU-Baylor game thread

It's clear we don't have a true No. 1 receiver. We have several No. 2's and 3's. Somebody needs to consistently step up. We're missing Stogner big time

Mims, Wease and Haselwood all have that ability. All are young as is the QB. Lamb had Andrews and Hollywood to assist his rise to stardom.

I will say the defense kept us alive and that was a turning point for Grinch in my opinion. In most years our offense has had to be the dominant side of the ball. Congrats to D tonight. They saved us.

Also, when the guard\tackle pull is not working why not run up the gut? Stevenson can fall forward for three to four yards.

OL was embarrassing...could not drink this game pretty. Defense cannot do it all LR. Your play calling was abysmal and pathetic.

To be fair, the defense was long overdue to carry the load.

And give a lot of credit to Baylor. They wanted this one. Played their asses off all night. With Zeno at QB next year they'll be a contender.

We had more on the line than Baylor did. Baylor is back to being a bottom feeder like K-State is...in a sinking conference. The defense had some hiccups, but the OL had real troubles...even Humphrey. This was a troubling game headed towards the Big 12 Title game. Offense in total was a C- tonight and defense a B+....then there was the 12 yard punt...36 feet. Wtf ?!!

I wouldn't give them a C-.

But Baylor clearly was hyped for this game. There's been a load of strife between these 2 since 2014. I don't think the Bears are going quietly into the night. They've recruited better than ever.

We'll see what happens against WVU.

Before we continue our disrespecting Baylor, let's consider that the Bears have been in every game they've played after having their first 2 games cancelled in September.
West Virginia, lost 27-21 in two OTs, on the road.
Texas, lost 27-16, on the road.
TCU, lost 33-23.
Iowa State, lost 38-31, on the road....by a score almost the same as OU's game with ISU.
Texas Tech, lost 24-23, on the road.
As sloppy as OU played last night, I never felt Baylor was going to win because of Grinch's defense and Baylor's last score on the game's final play was ONLY cosmetic.

Yes, but the very poor play of the OL is very concerning!

Baylor came into last night’s game ranked 84th in the nation in rushing defense.

OU had 76 rushing yards on 31 attempts. K-state rushed for 256 against Baylor last week, and K-state is playing a backup QB who can’t throw a lick. Baylor knew K-State was going to run, and still couldn’t stop it.

There is not enough lipstick in the world for this pig.

Agree, and the poor play of the O-line has to be addressed quickly to spare Rattler from getting hurt and passing poorly under pressure.....aside from opening holes for the running game.
I was watching the Alabama-LSU game at the same time and, once again, I see the gap of excellence between OU and Alabama remaining very wide.....in all fairness to Riley's good work over 4 years.
FWIW, Saban's recruiting class for 2021 has 22 commitments with three 5-star players, 14 4-star players and 4 Texans and players from ten different states. Geography is no barrier for Saban.

I disagree with that. Baylor's new coach will do a great job. He just chose the wrong year to become a head coach at a new place.
