Of course they would. So would Wake Forest and Cincinnati. The problem with that argument is that if these teams were in the SEC right now, they’d all have two, three, four or even five losses each.I'm just saying that if OU was in the SEC right now with an undefeated record they would be #2 in the rankings behind Georgia.

If you’re one play away from losing to Tulane, Nebraska, Texas, West Virginia, Kansas State, and then get dominated for three quarters by the worst FBS team in the county (Kansas), how would that shake out if you replaced those four Big 12 teams with four SEC teams?
You might be right, the Sooners might have two or three losses with an SEC schedule, but they don't. They are undefeated. Last time I looked 9-0 stood for 9 wins and 0 losses. There isn't a column for bad wins, bad losses, good losses etc.Of course they would. So would Wake Forest and Cincinnati. I think Ohio State will beat both Michigan schools. All the teams ranked above OU are favored to win Saturday, and should. So unless there’s an upset, OU won’t move up. The following three weeks will make an impact…..in a good way, hopefully. Ohio State has to play two currently ranked teams. Michigan and Michigan State so there’s going to be a shift. Cincinnati has to play SMU. Alabama has Auburn and Arkansas that may give them a game. Georgia has the weakest remaining schedule. So OU needs to kick ass going forward, IMO.
I agree but it would be better for Michigan State to win. That would knock out OSU and if the Buckeyes beat Michigan AGAIN that would knock them out. OU’s best shot is a Georgia, Michigan State, OU and Oregon playoff. Bama will lose another game, IMO. Hey, it could happen if we take care of business but no more just sliding by. We need to win convincingly. Boomer!!I think Ohio State will beat both Michigan schools.
Tell that to the crackpot committee. There is no way OU gets left out undefeated, OU is currently riding the longest winning streak in Div1. No chance a 21-0 Conference Champion gets left out.
Logic rarely has anything to do with the current day college football playoff selection. There is no way OU gets left out undefeated, OU is currently riding the longest winning streak in Div1. No chance a 21-0 Conference Champion gets left out.
Juts win out and all will fall into place.Just win out baby!
In 2 weeks I will be at an OU game for the first time in about 6 yrs courtesy of a man I have never met. I can already not thank him enough and whatever our record or ranking might be at that point I am still gonna enjoy the heck out of it.
None of those guys are on the committee any more (Long isn’t currently employed, fwiw; he was canned @ KU when the Les Miles mess came to light). Gene Taylor (KSU AD) is the only B12 tie on the current committee.Oliver Luck, West Virginia AD, is on the CFP committee. I wonder how much love he has for OU nowadays? Jeff Long, Arkansas AD and Archie Manning? Two SEC guys. There’s always going to be room to question the committee. I always liked the polls better. But that’s just me.
Used to be but the committee seems to be stirrin up some disturbing shit this season for some reason. Of course just win out obviously used to make a fan comfortable but THE COMMITTEE and it's ineptitude leaves me weary of the future of cfb.. Cancel the committe and bring back the bcs formula/calculation. The committee was the worst thing to happen to cfb imo, it will ruin it.Juts win out and all will fall into place.
Okay how do you, or they, explain Bama being ranked #2?The committee does not take into consideration what happened last year. Their rankings are designed to be a snapshot in time, based solely on what has transpired this season. So OU's winning streak (that extends into last year) is only evaluated on the the quality of wins they've had so far this year
They also shuffle the deck every week, so the rankings they had from the previous week don't carry any weight (unlike the coaches and sports writer's polls). In this way, late season quality wins and conference championship wins carry a lot of weight.
Good point but that also covers a lot of “ What Ifs” guessing. OU certainly hasn’t played great this season and its a fair observation though.Of course they would. So would Wake Forest and Cincinnati. The problem with that argument is that if these teams were in the SEC right now, they’d all have two, three, four or even five losses each.

The simple solution is expand to 8 or 12 teams. Anyone who trust this committee haven’t paid attention to the past. Ask TCU fans what they think of this committee or Penn State who won the B10 but yet seen Ohio St get the bid while sitting at home on conference championship week. Alabama has done it twice sitting at home.Used to be but the committee seems to be stirrin up some disturbing shit this season for some reason.
