OT- Who's your MLB team?

Back in the day, when we only had the game of the week to watch on tv, I got to see Ron Guidry pitch. Louisiana Lightning... I was hooked for no other reason than that.

Atlanta Braves, whom I think might be surprisingly decent even though they traded away a couple of fan favorites for some young pitchers. Hitting was a big problem last year as the guys who were expected to step up just did not hit with any consistency. The pitching staff held their own, but had little run support all season. So, the new GM has come in and kept a few key pieces, but has put an emphasis on bulking up the pitching staff. He also has said the farm system is depleted and wants to rebuild the team from the bottom up. I am prepared for a season or two of mediocre ball, but if some of the trades come through, I think this rebuilding effort will pay dividends in a very short period of time.

Well, I used to follow the White Sux when Frank Thomas was swatting there.

Kansas City. George Brett was my hero growing up. Have an autographed Brett baseball and a signed photo in my home office. Went to my first Royals game when I was 8. My baseball team won our city championship and we voted to go to a Royals game instead of getting trophies. Last year was a dream season. It's hard to be disappointed with what they accomplished, but hard not to be disappointed knowing they were so close and probably will never be that close again. Can't wait for the upcoming season to start. Hopefully they will be in the playoff race again this year. It's nice to have something to get you through July and August while waiting for football.
Adopted the Braves as a second team because that's the only team I got to watch on a regular basis growing up. All we had was TBS.

The Braves traded with the Orioles to get Nick Markakis, a right fielder. And if the Braves problem was hitting he isn't going to improve the Braves hitting very much if at all.
So the Atlanta GM din't do the fans or team any favors by trading for him. And the GM grossly over paid for him.
And as someone else mentioned I followed the Reds because of Binger, Oklahomas very own Mr Johnny Bench

Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Rang....er...Orioles. I also like the Red Sox and Royals...

Favorite player of all time is Brooks Robinson. Also love me some Cal, Moose, and Earl Weaver.
George Brett is another one of my favorites all time, so the Royals are an easy pick. I spent one summer in KC and absolutely loved it. Kaufman is one of my favorite stadiums.
Red Sox because the way I was treated when I went to Fenway. Fans were awesome...the stadium gave me wood...the atmosphere outside before the game was unreal...and I love me some Mike Greenwell and Oil Can!!!

First game I watched was Reggie's 3 HR game in the '77 Series, & I've been hooked ever since. Favorite player was Donnie Baseball. I'll always wonder what his #'s would've ended up like had that back held up.
As a kid growing up in Tulsa, I was a Cardinal fan. I couldn't stand it that a sucky team like Detroit could possibly stay on the same field as Bob Gibson and the mighty Cardinals.
Living in Houston and not being a diehard MLB fan, I love watching the Astros. Since I am not emotionally invested, I can watch them good or bad. It's more about going to Minute Maid Park or setting on my patio in the spring/summer than it is about rooting for the home team.
Showing my age, when cable first came out and became affordable, I was a large Braves fan, purely because of the TBS Superstation and the ability to watch the same team every day. Plus the Braves were really good back then - Dale Murphy, Bob Horner, Pendleton, etc.
