The death of BBJ and listening today prompted this thread. There have been some longtime icons in thus market. They are in no order. Add your comments or anybody I left out. For you youngsters

Danny Willuams 3 D Danny WKY TV and Radio
Foreman Scotty. Had an afternoon kids show
These 2 guys (remember this was the late 50's and local TV was doing their own scripted shows)

Gary England. 1972 - 2013 . First live TV Tornado warning from radar and later helped pioneer Doppler Radar
Brad Edwards " in your corner"
Bob Barry Sr.

KOCO' Ho Ho the Clown
Ross Porter WKY (KFOR) sports anchor went straight to KNBC LOS Angeles and Dodger baseball. He was big time. Probably the best of the best

This shows all the pioneering of the Gaylord's with TV and WKY-TV. Yes WKY-TV in the 1950-1965 was considered the most advanced local TV station in the entire United States. The radio station was one of the first.
