Today one of my closest buddies buried his 53 year old wife of 20 years. She only went into the hospital 11 days ago, was diagnosed with leukemia on Tuesday, was cautiously optimistic as of last Thursday and was gone by Saturday. She leaves behind a kid in his mid-20's as well as a 17 year old and twin 16 year olds.

My friend is not a Sooner die-hard though he cheers for them because of me much as I do for his Steelers.

Any words of comfort or support for a football fan whose mind is clearly on more important things than football would be welcome. I will share with him once things are less raw.

I have seen many occasion on this board where we rise above our petty differences to provide amazing comfort, support and strength for each other. I was hoping to tap into that for my friend.

Thanks in advance and I know it is a cliche but hug your spouse, sig other, kids, parents, landlord and anyone else you cherish. It can all go in the blink of an eye.
