Went to Laughlin NV this weekend for my B-day, something the wife and I had planned since Jan. when we bought tickets for the "Master of both space and time" none other than the Oklahoma Treasure Leon Russell! he was playing Fri. Sat. and Sun. at the Riverside casino. this would be my tenth time I've seen him live.
We chose the Saturday night show since we were staying till Monday and that would give us a day to recoup, since there would be alot of adult beverages invovled
. they told us we could either get a refund or try to get tickets for Sunday. at this point we are so bummed we go back to our hotel and drink are sorrows away.
Sunday we decide about twenty minutes before the show to see if we can get new tickets.(this is when then story starts not sucking) I go to the ticket booth and the lady gives me a pair of front row tickets and say's enjoy......... well this was the best show I've ever seen Leon put on. 2 hours of great music and to my amazment Leon talking about everyone he has ever played with from Glenn Campbell in the wrecking crew day's to George Harrison with the concert for Bagladesh. Joe Cocker, his day's at Mussel Shoales the album with Elton, he just went on and on......... it was awesome! all I can say is if you get a chance to see him, see him. He won't be here forever!
