Fellas,
I’d like to invest in a solid, all around fishing rod and reel. I live in Oklahoma and am by no means an avid fisherman and likely won’t be - maybe go 2-3 times a year for a day or so. However, I’ve always enjoyed it and could be considered one small step past beginner. With that in mind, I’d like to get a setup that has a fairly flexible use for freshwater, fishing for large and smallmouth, walleye, crappie, maybe striper. I’m willing to drop some decent money knowing that it will be a setup I should have for life if cared for.
I’m pretty much set on buying a St Croix Avid rod (specific model: AVS66MLF2) but I need a rec for a spinning reel. I’m willing to drop $100-150 for a reel. I’ve tried googling and there’s way too much out there to narrow it down.
Any recs? Thanks in advance.
