Attention DFW area runners and concerned citizens. On Saturday there will be a 5k run run and 1 mile walk to benefit Pulmonary Hypertension in Coppell. It will be over at noon, so plenty of time to still get home or down to Waco for the big game. PH is a life altering disease where the pulmonary arteries are thicker than they are supposed to be, making the heart work harder to exchange oxygen with the blood system. It is a rare progressive disease with no known cure, but there are many doctors that are working on finding a cure. Because PH is so rare (2-3 in a million) it is often misdiagnosed or un-diagnosed. My wife has been diagnosed for 5 and a half years, but she had shown symptoms for over 10 years prior. She had 2 misdiagnoses before getting the correct diagnose.
