Great news for Baker fans...looks like the game will be available on the NFL Network.
Baker Mayfield 'will play quite a bit' Thursday night against the Giants in NY
BEREA, Ohio -- Baker Mayfield fans will get their fix Thursday night against the Giants in New York.
Coach Hue Jackson said the No. 1 overall pick "will play quite a bit'' in the preseason opener against the Giants.
Tyrod Taylor, who's been getting all of the first-team reps in training camp, will start the game and play only a series or two, along with the rest of the starters.
In preparation for the game, Jackson has been giving Mayfield plenty of reps with the second team offense against the Browns' starting defense.
He likely won't face the Giants starters much, but he'll still have a feel for the caliber of a starting defender when he hits the field Thursday night.
Mayfield, who's worked exclusively with the second-team offense, has struggled when pitted against the Browns starters, but that's understandable considering he's been with the backups on those occasions.
[...]
Overall, Mayfield has had an excellent camp, developing good chemistry with receivers such as Rashard Higgins and Da'Mari Scott. He and Higgins have been especially productive downfield, and it's catapulted Higgins to the No. 3 receiver behind Jarvis Landry and Antonio Callaway.
