Not all 5 stars make it to be "big game"

Very interesting and just goes to show you how unimportant all the star rankings really are, and explains why we see so many highly ranked high schoolers not live up to the hype.

I don't necessarily disagree about how invalid the star rankings are......but it seems to work fairly well at Alabama almost every year. While Saban has only one in the 2018 class, he had 8 a year ago.
And if OU had 7 (seven) 5-star recruits, as Georgia has right now, would anyone here be excited ?

Yep, but Saban has more to do with those 5 stars being successful than any other NCAA head coach. And it ain’t even close. OU having 7 5* recruits would be exciting but could end up giving fans heartburn especially the defensive guys. But that’s what Nexium is for so bring them on and let’s see what happens.

It comes down to the coaching staff doing their jobs in developing and putting those 5-star players in a position to win and successful. That's the difference. Mack Brown year after year recruited as well as any other program in the country, yet seemed to generally fall short on the field.
