What are some sports players or sports related things you enjoy that aren't tied to the Sooners?

- Steph Curry. What an amazing player. So smooth and essentially unguardable at 6'1".

- Aaron Rodgers. Been struggling the back half of this season due to line injuries but I've never seen a more complete quarterback when he's on.

I'll add some more. Whats yours?

Coach Geno Auriemma's work at UConn for the past 30 years in coaching women's basketball. Going for his 4th straight national championship this season. It was Auriemma's recommendation that helped Coach Coale get her OU job, as he was recruiting Stacy Hansmeyer from Norman and Paige Sauer from Midwest City in the late 1990's.
Resurgence of the Houston Astros and what may be happening with the Houston Cougars.
Craig Biggio getting inducted into the HOF and delivering a great acceptance speech....wearing a suit that my nephew sold him Houston.

I'm biased. Dirk Nowitzki. Everything he has done for the Mavs and Dallas is nothing short of amazing. Taking a nearly 50% pay cut at the height of his career in order for the team to surround him with more role players was incredible in this day and age - and it led to an O'Brien Trophy. At the same time, Kobe demanded another long term max contract which ultimately sunk his team.
Add to that Nowitzki is leading the team in scoring at the age of 37 while earning half as much as Chandler Parsons and Wesley Matthews.
Dirk Nowitzki is a freak of nature both as an athlete and a person.

Lol Jcon, Dirk was on my list just wanted to get the thread started. Love that big ol German.

My focus was gonna be on his style of play and his shooting.

Yep, his shooting is amazing. He hasn't tailed at all as he has aged. If you look at his PER 36 minutes stats, he is just rock solid. I don't know if anyone in the history of any sport has been such an ironman.

The chart doesn't copy and paste well, but if anyone's interested, follow the link and look at the PER 36 minute chart. Pick a category and watch how rock solid his numbers have been through his career. It's a sight to see.
