Nick's gonna save cfb

If Nick means that players can make money but it cannot be tied to having to attend a particular school, I agree. Pros make endorsement money but none is tied to what team they play for. The team doesn’t benefit nor lose if the player goes to another team. The NIL should be completely independent of the school a college player attends. If they can merit a NIL deal based solely on their owe name/talents, great. But there won’t be that many players getting rich. And this won’t become such a problem.

If anyone can fix it I'm sure Nick can and you knew he would once he's starting to take a back seat to 8-5 A&M in recruiting LOL. Aggie still swears it's because of the "culture" that Jimbo is creating that is bringing the 5 star recruits in

Saban is notorious for Complaining about things such as HUNH Offenses or Pass Happy Offenses. So he starts recruiting 5 star QB's that can sling it. He didn't like the Transfer Portal but has used it to his advantage and now its the NIL and that too will be utilized by him and Bama as it will everyone else.
I cannot help but think that one more Natty and he may ride off into the sunset and retire. He has a chance for another tomorrow night.
I wish they both could lose.

He's sort of saying what I have been saying.
When he talks about regulation, it is the same I have said about defining NIL.
The courts have ruled that anyone should have the opportunity to participate in NIL.
Need them to define it.
NIL means if the particular athlete has a demand for their NIL, they participate.
NIL is NOT Pay To Play, as Texas, A&M and others are using it.
NIL needs to be defined and, for those who are a little slow (Jimbo, Sark, Nick, etc), the difference in NIL and Pay To Play spelled out. One is legal and acceptable, one is not.

Saban has some ideas which I like. For years, he has been saying the SEC should play nine conference games, citing that some schools only play each other once every six years. Of course, none of the other SEC members want to play nine conference games, so it has gone nowhere. He also suggested that all SEC non-conference games be against Power Five schools, but that isn't supported by any of the other schools either.

Shoulda been spelled out before implemented. Nil is a huge deal for the future of cfb and shoulda been more descriptive from the get go.

It leads to an interesting juxtaposition. NIL stands for Name, Image, and Likeness, but without the jersey, it really isn't worth much. This is the same issue NFL players have had for years. Outside the QB position, very few football players are actually recognizable without the number and jersey and thus have limited marketing potential. For example, if he wasn't the QB of the nationally recogzined Clemson Tigers would you have even heard of DJ Uiagalelei? Yet he got a million dollar NIL deal.

While I agree, they didn't have a choice. The lawsuits were coming and state legislatures were already changing the rules under the covers. The NCAA was forced to accept a wide-open NIL, because (as usual) they lacked the vision to prepare for this in advance.
