What does it take to be a "Great Coach"? Retired, bored with the winter weather and tiring of Finger picking My Martin, I ran a comparison of the Elite Athletes (6.1-6.0) playing for SEC teams over the available Years from 2012, and 2015. Then compared those to comparable Years in the "Big 12". In those four Years, the Big 12 had a total of 8 recruited in the 6.1 and 6.0 range , while the SEC had 12, OOOPPS, I mean ALABAMA had 12... errrr I should say, Alabama had 12 in ONE YEAR! Now with a total of 37 such athletes available on Campus, just how GOOD does a coach really have to be (Alabama 37, the Big 12 Conference 8, include Metoyer)??
That said, how truly enjoyable it is when the Nation is shocked, and 'BAMA goes DOWN! Even better, When BAMA goes down at the hands of the OU Sooners! It says a lot about the Big 12, when, with the truly anemic Conference recruiting, 2015 has shown it to be highly competitive, and even playing for a National Championship!. Another competitive Year in 2016, should lead to an upsurge in conference recruiting in 2017. Thank Heavens for Great Coaching, and the hurry up, SPREAD Offense!
