Initial report...Thunder/Jazz game cancelled shortly before tipoff at Chesapeake. Apparently, Rudy Gobert of the Jazz has tested positive. He wasn't at the arena at the time of the announcement.

Details are sketchy, I've probably got some of it wrong but, apparently, the NBA season is on hold.

This is the tip of the iceberg. Baseball may be the next cancellation, at least as far as fans attending games. And no Army-Oklahoma for me this year.
And the lack of resources early on, along with the political divisiveness in this country fueled by politicians and all of the media, is making the situation worse. The blame game has to stop, and facts....not opinions or "spins" are not what we need to hear.
Pearl Harbor and 9/11 united us. The corona virus pandemic must do the same....immediately.

Last night was a major bummer for me. I think I've been vocal on this site about being a big time NBA fan and especially the Dallas Mavericks. This year is the year that I have finally gotten my 8 yo son interested in sports, and we had tickets to go to his very first NBA game on Monday night as the Mavericks were to visit the LA Clippers here in LA.

I had to watch my son drag his feet and hang his head all night. Now probably his biggest sports memory that he'll carry all the way to the grave is about how his first professional sporting event was cancelled due to a virus. This one will probably be more vivid than the times his future fandom teams win championships.
