1. The OL is bad. Real bad. It's going to be a long year if the light doesn't come on for the current starters or if roster changes aren't made. I'm thinking we will see roster changes. I'd score the O-Line w/ an "F" for this game. It was ugly as I've seen

2. Baker went 20 for 27 but IMO was one of his worst games. I can count on my hand the number times he throws over the middle. In other words, he doesn't. Is it because he can't see over the linemen? Don't know, but if I see this you can bet the opposing coaches see this.

3. Speaking of opposing Coaches, Herman has it going on in Houston. It appears that he's circled the map of Houston and said, "No one recruits Houston but UoH". Did you catch the announcer's comments? 23 of the 43 D1 recruits in Houston signed w/ UH. That's a huge improvement from the past. I can't tell you nothing about Columbus Ohio, but living in Houston I can tell you that Herman has Houston rolling, even before this win. I maybe wrong here, but I don't see him leaving Houston for awhile. He's admired, has a great thing going on and sits in great fertile recruiting territory.

4. You missing Sanchez yet? I am. Houston went after Austin & Cobb constantly and both failed miserably. By design, they completely avoided Thomas. Again, expect a younger, hungrier replacement coming to your screens soon. Another game like this will bring changes as there will be nothing to lose and all to gain to get some of the younger guys playing time & experience.

5. Mixon is our offense. Period. Perrine is solid but needs blockers and we don't have any.

6. Andrews is the best WR we have and while he did good today, he still dropped a few. Westbrook didn't have a bad day, but not a great day either.

7. Bob Stoops. Take a lap. Seriously, the timeout before the failed 53 yd Field Goal attempt & then the attempt itself were some of his worst calls as the OU Head Coach. He needs to be chastised and given hell. But seriously guys, it isn't the first time we have witnessed this happen. The best Coach in CFB Nick Saban did this same thing a couple of years ago and it literally cost his team the chance to play for a title. There were so upset, we icked their butt in the bowl game. So replacing Stoops is not happening and IMO, a bit too over dramatic.

8. Can we stop the smack talk about Houston joining the B12? I mean before Houston it was TCU. Then Baylor. The OU Coaches & players do not play against an opposing team's stadium size, history, and their fan bases. Period. Houston today is capable of beating many teams across the country as was TCU prior to joining the B12. Both Patterson & now Herman have proven they are worthy.

9. I thought the defense played well in the 2nd half and the D-line played decent both halves. There is no doubt that we have serious issues at CB. Going forward, I expect this to be exploited.

10. Finally, while it sucks to lose today. I'm telling you now, it's nice to support a program as worthy as OU. The better team won today no doubt. But UH knows they beat a very good program. It officially put them on the map. They beat Oklahoma. They are very proud of themselves and they should be. They had all to gain and nothing really to lose by playing OU. Not so much with OU playing Houston. The risk/reward favored UH heavily in this game.
To the victor goes the spoils.

Hang on for a bumpy ride. OU has put themselves in a major hole w/ the schedule this year. But they can still win the Big 12 if they make adjustments. It won't be easy, but it's not impossible... yet.

I'm sick of OU being the team getting defeated to put some team on the map. The positive I saw was OU is stout in the middle, they really clogged up the running lanes. I saw some good push in the game, but our guys were out there too many snaps.

13 total rushes for Perine and Mixon doomed the team, among other mistakes. How do you abandon the run with Mixon and Perine as RBs? I thought for sure OU was going to use some old school Q shuttle passes and some quick outs to the flat to get by the blitz.

Wnasooner what's also concerning is the last 2 games in the 2nd half we scored a whole 6 points. No adjustments and no urgency. As far as Sanchez yes he came up with the occasional pick but he looked exactly like these guys. Is it the coaching? Being soft and well not too bright is becoming a reoccurring theme. Who is to blame?

Thomas got beat as badly as Dakota and Cobb. But, you can't guard quick receivers for ten seconds. We had absolutely no pressure on Ward during the first half---none. That forty yard pass on second and 23, and that forty yard pass to set up the 19-17 FG----Ward could have written a short novel against the three-man rush. You have to give some pressure if the receivers have speed.

We;be been "expecting" a loss every year for too long. I'll care again when we get a coach who does. Stoops think a good coach can lose a game or two every year without damaging his reputation.. He is about five years overdue for his third national title. Not really? Then, we are no longer an elite program.

The UH program believe we are elite. As does College Football in general. Losses aren't easy. But they occur. Clemson kicked our ass last year yet lost to a better tem the following week. Losses happen, it's part of the game. Today sucked. I'd prefer a win. But I'm not garage selling my OU gear or calling for a Head Coach's job this early in the season. That's not my style.

No. No he didn't. He was basically avoided.

Not arguing anyone elses opinion but only giving my own. We see and hear the same ole excuses year in and year out and it has gotten a little old. Different season but same issues.
I for one welcome Houston to the big 12 and have never had an issue with them being invited. Add another that OU cannot beat (BYU) and maybe OU will get their sh!t together. I really think a lot of OU`s problems are a lack of talent and Coaching but thats just me.

Cobb reminded me of Bassey - lost in space (and that mpeg in another thread of Austin chasing down and tackling a blocker from behind while the runner is behind both of them was...disturbing).

As for throwing over the middle - on a slant you typically cut-block the DLine, so there should be visibility for Baker on those. Riley didn't call any. Nor any WR bubble screens in the flat to at least get the ball out of Baker's hands and keep Houston spread out - they had their ears pinned back for chasing Baker around and he obliged them.

You offset a bad OL with getting rid of the ball faster. But given how long Baker held on to the ball I'm not really sure how bad our OL is. And were our WRs really not getting open vs a 2015 112th ranked (or whatever was) pass D???

Your analysis makes the case for horrific coaching.

Bob seems to be guilty of narrowing his focus. When he came on board, natties were a major part of his stated focus in light of what Bud and Barry accomplished. That focus appears to have shifted to only conference championships (still a major accomplishment) which should be achieved more often than not with the recruiting classes we keep pulling in versus our conference competitors. He and his staff don't seem to be getting the same bang out of their buck that he achieved earlier in his tenure.

Bob has a tough time against the up and comers in the coaching world. He's in obvious decline on the national level. Others in and out of our conderence seem to navigate around his game plan rather easily.

Who was wearing the #7 when he was turned around for a number of first downs by the receiver stopping while he was oblivious as to where the ball was?

I saw Dakota get beat---but it was a bad call on interference, in which he had perfect coverage downfield on Dunbar. Another time, he was whistled for an interference call when he and the receiver were shoving lightly, and he seemed to be touching the back of the receiver's jersey as he sprinted to an overthrown ball. The only time he was really beaten was by Williams (?), the speed receiver, when he was on a fly that he broke to the post at about the ten yard line. He beat Dakota. I was curious on a couple of these. Do we expect our corners to cover the length of the field. Is there no safety help deep? Who is the safety covering?

It appears my #4 is coming to fruition. Per Mike Stoops, the starting CB spot opposite of Thomas is now an OPEN position.

I think we all saw that coming. I told my friend during the game that I think Dakota Austin has seen his last days as a starter.

Hard to believe neither Cobb nor Mbansor have been able to lock that spot down. These were a couple of our biggest recruits over the last 2 years.
