Since I get the rare opportunity to kick back and not worry about the outcome of the football game, I shift my attention to the start of the NLCS.
As the board's only resident Mets fan (that I know of) amongst a sea of Cubs fans, I am curious to how you Cubs fans really feel about this series?
I think the Cubs are the best team in baseball right now but there seems to be something special about this Mets team...the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. I know it is being billed as the Mets young arms against the Cubs young offense, but these teams have been almost identical since Aug 1 with the Cubs actually pitching a little better than the Mets and the Mets slightly out hitting the Cubs down the stretch.
Most of all I'm just excited to renew this old rivalry on the big stage with two teams that look to be contenders for the foreseeable future.
