I have been soaking in the win this weekend more than usual because of the extra confidence that Texas has had this year, leading to a lot of my Longhorn friends being particularly obnoxious. So, I have been reading all the posts about Orange Bloods message boards and have listened to a few Texas podcasts like the OB podcast from Ketch and the reactions have been really satisfying as the loss seems to have shattered that confidence hard.

A podcast I listened to last week to prep for the game is from 247 called Longhorn Blitz and it took them a while, but they finally posted their pod this week and it was good enough to share with the board. It is a Texas pod so of course they are going to spend some time trying to explain “what went wrong” but at around the 35-minute mark the hosts dropped this gem.

“Your focus right now if you are Tom Herman should be, "everything you do - every bench-press rep, every sprint, every part of spring ball - it was always about did what we do today was it good enough to beat Oklahoma." That is where this program's mindset needs to be. Texas has an Oklahoma problem. While everybody listening to this has been slap fighting with Aggies over who is better or not, all Oklahoma has been doing is winning the damn Big XII. Cranking out Heisman winners, going to college football playoffs, getting first round draft picks, back to back to back...In terms of program and tradition Oklahoma has been leaving your ass in the dust.

No, Oklahoma is a better football program, that's true. Sad, but true.

So, if Tom Herman wants to ascend to the upper echelon of coaches in the country, fix the Oklahoma problem and that has got to be your mindset every day. Is it good enough to beat Oklahoma. Cause honestly, if it is good enough to beat Oklahoma it is good enough to beat anybody else in this league.”
