Here are highlights from Lincoln Riley's media session on Monday.

SCOOPHD: Lincoln Riley - KU Week

* Talk on Monday still centered around the impressive 405-yard rushing performance vs. Texas Tech. Perine (201 yards, 4 TDs) and Mixon (154 yards, 2 TDs) combined for 355 rushing yards & six rushing touchdowns, marking the first time since the 2008 Big 12 Championship Game (vs. Missouri) that two Sooners each rushed for over 100 yards and two scores (Mossis Madu and Chris Brown).

* How much improvement was seen in the Sooners run game? Oklahoma jumped 43 spots from No. 82 nationally to No. 39 in rushing yards per game (194.0).

* Over the last two games, OU has outscored Kansas State (55-0) and Texas Tech (63-27) by a 118-27 count. OU has not scored 50 or more points in three straight games since Sam Bradford’s Heisman Trophy winning season of 2008.

* Riley is pleased with Baker Mayfield's continued impact from the QB1 position. Mayfield went 15-for-22 or 212 yards and two touchdowns vs. his former teammates from Lubbock. He has thrown for multiple TDs in all but one game this season

* How good has Mayfield been? Despite throwing an interception on Saturday he improved in most areas statistically leading the conference in completion percentage (67.5%), while ranking No.3 nationally in pass efficiency (179.1)

* Spoke with Ty Darlington for a bit and could tell they are pleased with the progress, but know that it a lot of it won't mean much if they don't continue to improve.

* Riley credited Darlington & senior guard Nila Kasitati as players that are 'playing like seniors' producing what he called their best games of the year over the Sooners last two games. Perhaps this shouldn't come as a surprise as both continue to get back to 100% after being hampered by injury to start the year.

* Riley gave his usual Monday speech about taking it 'week-to-week' and improving, yada yada yada.

About Kansas:

* Kansas ranks No.9 in the Big 12 and 118th nationally by giving up 244.9 yards per game

* Last year , the Sooners ran for 510 yards (tied for the most of the Stoops era) behind Samaje Perine’s 427-yard effort, an FBS record. Checkout highlights from the record setting day here.

* All in all it was a rather quiet afternoon/evening in Norman, unless you are a uniform junkie. Checkout Carey's notebook (if you haven't already) from Monday afternoon with Stoops.
