Just a bit outside the Metroplex...
Big thread on this over in CC. I'm thinking whoever is claiming they have a tape, is making it up to stir up attention. The owner supposedly had destroyed the tape(s). Hope there is zero truth to it. But I"m sure this is something Joe Mixon will have to endlessly live down in the media, regardless of how much good he does or whatever he does to better himself.

It will all go away at some point as long as he stays out of trouble and people stop bringing it up.

When Mixon runs for 150 and scores 3 tds at Rocky top it will be a non story

If someone has the tape, it only makes sense they wait until the guy does something on the field. Drives up the price.

The better he does on the field the more the incident will be talked about. Only way this remotely goes away is if he doesn't play.

Thanks for the brilliant analysis. Now, let's talk about the possibility that everybody but you has moved on and doesn't care.

Isn't the handle "Longhorn crazy" a redundant one?

This isn't real. It's a fan from Stillwater trying to stir up the waters.

This^^^^^ the Mixson tape will never be released to the public even through, the Longhorn fans want it to be. But here is what they will do, they will 1. make up a story and run with it. 2. believe their made up story. Guess what no matter how you Longhorn fans try to run the university of Oklahoma in the ground with your fabricated and made up stories, will never erase the fact that Coach Switzer and now coach Stoops ownTexas.

One of the top media guys in the state ( I am talking about a real media guy, not Swaim) said yesterday that he expects the AP to win its appeal, and the tape will probably be released in November. But he also said that he knows of at least one "Private copy" that will be released if the appeal in denied.

How can it be released if it's private property and the DA returned the tape? This is why it was shown openly to the media. No one has a claim to it but the owner and unless they change their decision, it isn't going to be released and there isn't a court that can force the release.

Very true. I think what people keep referencing is the copy that exists as evidence. That copy isn't subject to open records requests.

And this reporter that you speak of is just as full of dog dunk as your Greg Swain. The tape will not be released no matter what court heard the case.

Why are you fans so hell bent on hoping the tape will never be shown? Would you really be praying so hard to shield criticism from a guy that severely hurt your daughter? Just a yes or no.

I haven't seen a shred of anybody hell bent on hoping the tape won't be shown. Nobody here really cares. Try again.

Why are you so hell bent on hoping it does get shown? Do you enjoy watching that kind of stuff? Something exciting to put in your whorn spank bank?

If there's still any copies left I hope they get burned in the incinerator.

Getting tired of this one coming up every few months.
Geez, let's just look ahead and again, Joe has paid his penance for Gods sake.

OU fans, as I'm sure the players and coaches will agree, they just want this crap to be over and in the past. It would be the same if it were at any other program in the country. Mixon served his punishment, and now it's time to move on. Period.

But at the same time, had this situation been reversed and it was a Texas player in the exact same situation, you can sure as hell bet that OU fans would ride UT fans about it all season, and prolly the entire kids career.

These things are simply byproducts of rabid fan bases who feed into these types of things and hold their rivals programs to a different standard or view them through through a different microscope than they do the programs they are a fan of.

Why? Because it's over. Legally, both parties have agreed to the criminal charges that were laid out and have paid their dues etc. The only people that wish to have the tape released are those that have an ax to grind with OU. Pretty much like yourself. You're being disingenuous. You're worried about Mixon and the potential damage that he can inflict on your Horns. You're not concerned with the girl and/or my daughter. Move along.

You nailed it Nota...the horns are terrified, and rightly so of what is considered the 2nd best backfield combo in the land. (Ga. Dogs #1)
Terrified to a point of peeing down their leg scared of what OU is going to do to that shockingly freshman heavy Horn team.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be them either.

Two Justices > One Board poster :(
Maybe... it will come down to "where is the tape" if authorities have no copies...

Any recording used in a criminal case is public record. What is common today is authority figures making up their own rules based upon their thoughts and feelings. Rule of law doesn't apply to them...

Got to love it when lawyers for the "victim" want a tape, and now a second tape, suppressed, when it would show...
“It is our belief that allowing the public to view only a snippet of the events of that night — the punch and the seconds leading up to it from one angle — does not begin to tell the entire story of that night,” the attorneys said. “Both videos from the restaurant, along with the police reports, witness statements and recorded interviews will end the speculation and false narratives about Mia, they will address all of the pertinent events of that night, and they will allow the full truth to be known. Unfortunately, if the single video of the punch is released now and to the media, the court of public opinion will receive and review evidence before a jury does. Not only could this undermine the integrity of the ongoing federal civil cases, it would also be an incomplete presentation of evidence.”

While the attorney for Mixon says...

“Joe has apologized for the way he reacted that night. He has served the punishments handed down by the court and the university. If copies of the surveillance video are now to be released to the media, he hopes that this release will help put this matter to rest.”

Anybody find that a bit odd? If Molitor didn't "assault" Mixon as her attorneys claim, why wouldn't you want to convince the public of this?

Smoke and mirrors...
