Mike is OUT!!!!!!

Players frustrated in a very important and emotional game... and then Jack In Box plays the gaslighter and berates and calls out a few players. That should be Lincoln’s job to more tactfully address the problems. Not causing chaos like Jack In Box. He got his ticket punched to go coach at some FCS cheese ball school...and face Bama or Georgia haha.

Defense backs cannot look good if the quarterback has enough time in the pocket to circumcise a baby elephant. OU's pass rush sucks.
BTW, Diaco will call the defensive schemes even though McNeil is the DC.

Diaco needs to tho. He’s the only guy that knows what it means to be an elite defense on the entire staff. Granted Stoops had OU defense at elite in the early 2000’s.

There is some talk in this thread about Lincoln is taking a big chance. BUT .... what choice does he have. I think he is doing the best he can under the circumstances.

Also ... remember that things are so bad and the offense is so good that all we need the DC to do in make a reasonable progress. If what we had with Mike was 8 /10, then DC only needs to get it moved to a 6/10.

If people will work together, then this can be done. The Sooners can win the Big 12 and go to a bowl.

They should forget about the final 4.... the defense is not going to take us there. But we can win the Big 12 ... a bowl ... and recruit for next year with the new, hungry young DC.

Good riddance Mikey. Maybe Plaino will hire you to Coach his "Peanut Gallery." :D

Nah I aint gone, was just a little pissed but I am over it somewhat. :p
Mike Stoops being let go cures a lot of years of constipation, felt like number 3 to me when I heard the news, a good colon cleanse for sure.

As to the altercation comment I made, I heard late last night that it was 'fake news' and that though Mike did not travel back to Norman after the RRR loss, everyone associated with OU has taken the 'high road' on the issue and a settlement was reached and MS wishes all at OU well and the feeling is supposedly mutual with everyone including the player in question.

I believe something happened. Something triggered the firing in mid season. I also don't care what happened, the PR response, etc. Mike's gone.
