Starting? Seriously? Everybody is hearing major is going to be the starter. That seems outright ridiculous to me, considering Javonte Barnes and Gavin Sawchuk have more than earned their spot at the top of that position. Marcus major has done virtually nothing his entire career, and it sounds like the staff is just handing him the starting job, because he’s a senior. If major starts, I would expect Barnes or Sawchuk to transfer after losing a monumental year for both if they have to share snaps with a guy like major whose time at OU is clearly over. I expected the staff to have learned from the David ugwaebu and Broiles mistakes they made last season. Putting a guy like major out there as the “starter” sends a negative message to guys like Barnes particularly.
