Manek gone

I don’t get it. He was Sooner growing up and played at Harrah where his family still lives as far as I know. Why go out of state now?? I know mom and dad were at every game in Norman last season.

Because it's North Carolina. :) Don't kid yourself, Oklabama. I don't know who coined this phrase, but it's fitting here, "People are only as loyal as their best option."

Maybe he can sweeten his game and draft status if he gets greener grass there. Good luck to him

Is North Carolina a better option these days? They were 14-19 this year. Next to last in the ACC.

College BBall. It's really talent-driven. It just takes one single freshman class to go from zeroes to heroes.
I find it to be one of those weird sports where history - even recent history - means nothing.

Agree. OU just picked up Jordan Goldwire, a Duke transfer. We also picked up Tanner Groves, a big ugly white guy from Eastern Washington that showed well in the NCAAs. Big ugly white guys can make a difference. OU needs a double dose of on-court discipline in their basketball program.

He had to enter the portal before he would know that NC was an option. I wonder if he wasn't encouraged to find a new spot (and maybe some of the others who are leaving, too).
I riled up a guy on Facebook a few days ago when I wondered why a former blue-blood NC would have an interest in a guy like BM who had struggled a lot the last couple of years at OU.
Guy kept telling me how many NCs the tarheels had versus how many OU has.
He also told me there were over 1,100 in the portal. My come back was, if there are 1,100 in the portal, surely a true blue-blood could find a better option than Manek.
He finally quit responding.

Good points.

I'm a skeptic though. I know rules are in place to prevent shadiness, but I can't believe these people don't talk and know their options before they pull triggers.
