Louisville at Houston...

As you watch Houston dismantling Louisville, one thing comes to my mind: Up 17-0 and threatening to score again, 1st and goal at the Cardinals' 4 YL, what it most makes me wonder is "how did this team lose to SMU?"

I know that Catalon has been hurt, but they are doing this to UL with Ward nursing two injuries.

Catalon just scored to make it 24-0 with 6:53 left and Ed Oliver is making Lamar Jackson very uncomfortable. Those who think Louisville would be tough for Alabama to beat, need to watch this. The CT would kill this team. And yeah, I know the Cardinal might come back, but

Double pass for Cougar touchdown. Now 31-0, still 4:00 left in the first half. Cardinals have had FIVE FALSE STARTS in the games first 25 minutes. And they haven't had many snaps. Two first downs so far.

SMU showed promise in Waco earlier in the season. They just missed finishing drives. That day, they were tied at half and should have led by 20 over the rapists.

You figure Houston goes in with the distractions of Herman moving elsewhere and it's just the Mustangs, and the beat down begins...

Another board because I'm not partial to this one. I don't post elsewhere. They have a topic and Herman. He stated today that this team hasn't been this healthy since OU. You guys should get out more.

I say again, OU should NEVER lose to houston, EVER. Funny thing tho, little piggies here in Arkieland have been saying that if Louisville gets in the lil 12,11,10 that they would OWN this Conference. Silly piggies.

Houston is playing very well. Wish we had an Ed Oliver on our defensive line.

R. Gary (Michigan) received all of the top freshman publicity before the season but this kid is doing it on the field. Watched him a few times this year and he's the real deal. I'll be very surprised if he's not a first rounder after playing his required 3 years.

Power 5 talent each week vs only 2 games? Navy & SMU?

If he stays healthy, he will be the 1st pick. I've never seen a true freshman defensive lineman play at that level, the kid is a freak. I really thought he was going to flip to OU.

Tommy Harris started as a true freshman and on his first play from scrimmage he blew through the NC Tarheel O-line and damn near got a safety out of it. Remember, as bad as we played at NRG we were one play from being tied with UH. That one play resulted in a 10 point swing. Trust me.....the atmosphere in NRG was on a whole different level than what L'Ville experienced on campus at UH.

OFDs, you are a solid poster, but IMO there was no excuse for OU's poor performance at NRG or even Wigley Field if it was the final game of the World Series. That was a a total miscarriage. No way should this team lose to Houston. Except that Houston wanted it more than the Sooners so I give it up to the Cougars. Then they go and get beat by S M U. Houston the same team that beat OU, What does that say about how well OU was prepared to play Houston?

you are making my point. As bad as we played, technically the final outcome was decided by one play. I was at the game and we played poorly and UH played as one would have expected with so much on the line in front of a rabid packed house on national TV. Most games come down to a handful of plays and in this case, one play really stands out.

I am referring to one play that resulted in a 10 point swing which was the ultimate margin in the game. Seems pretty obvious to me...our kicker stutter steps and shorts a kick he clearly has the distance capability to make. In fact, the kick was dead on. Then it's returned for a TD...a 10 point swing in one play As bad as we played that one play ultimately was the difference. UH is good but an under performing Sooner squad got beat on the one play.

Okay. I see your point. But my point is that a team that loses to a team that loses to SMU doesn't merit being in the playoffs. Just my opinion.

I would say OU had much more on the line in this game than Houston yet we did not prepare or play like it. You can lay much of it at the feet of the defense. I lost count of how many 3rd and longs Houston converted.

What about Michigan? They lost to a team barely bowl eligible that lost to an FCS team...

Which 2 loss team will be worthy? What if there are several 2 loss conference champions?
