So far, rumors have Lincoln Riley to:
Dallas Cowboys
Cleveland Browns
Green Bay Packers

I will edit this as the list grows.

Green Bay is scary. Who wouldn’t want Aaron Rodgers as their QB.
Cleveland is familiar with Baker.

I see no draw or upside to Dallas.

The only upside w/ Dallas that I see is that the defense is better than Green Bay or Cleveland. Although, I believe Cleveland's defense will continue to improve.

LR isn't going anywhere, he even said so.

They always deny it. One thing that would make him think hard on it, the defense and what we will be next season, very very mediocre at best.
I really thought Riley would take OU back to the top after so many yrs of Bob getting rich and complacent, now I am not so sure he can or wants to. Very well could be his dream job, an NFL Gig. He might just want to take his show to the NFL and see what he can do. Would not blame him one bit. Maybe Bob did not leave the Program in as good a shape for his replacement as most everyone thought. Bob bailed for a reason and I doubt health had anything to do with it, see Urban Meyer when he was at Florida.

Man, I just can not see LR leaving after just two years at the helm. Even if Dallas is a dream job for him. I guess maybe I think he has way more to him than to up and leave 24 months after being given the keys to the OU palace.
Maybe if he doesn't or can't seem to get along with the new President at OU but I just don't see him leaving and will be stunned if he does. I think he realizes what he has, or at least I hope he does.

It certainly would be a dumb move for Lincoln to leave OU to work for Jerry Jones. Unless.... he no longer wants to do anything but coach and no longer make team (personnel) decisions. If so, working for Jerry is the place to be. If getting away from the responsibilities of bringing on great coaches and players to build a great all around team is his dream then get out of here.

I'll tell ya why Bob prolly bolted all of a sudden...he realized the defense was a disaster and knew he could not bring himself to fire his brother. He simply couldn't do it. Now sure he left a golden offense for Riley. But the defensive side he left Riley was just a train wreck. Bob had to know it. He ran away from it and just kicked the can down the road for Riley to handle. Riley really should have kicked Mike to the curb and went another direction defensively after the Rose Bowl last year. OU is paying the price this year for Riley not doing it.

NFL demands on a head coach are way over LR head. Great offensive mind, but he is way too hands off on the defensive side. Plus his fire in belly level is not there. He would not do too well in next level. He would be on hot seat quicker than Chip Kelly.

My thinking too, but he should have cleaned house on the defensive staff immediately after being named HC. He'd already seen enough by then to know it needed to happen. He didn't "owe" Bob Stoops anything with regards to getting the HC position. He earned it; it wasn't given to him. If anything, Stoops owed him for re-energizing the program.

Probably had something to do with the timing, coming in June. His opportunity was after last season and I'm sure he's kicking himself with 20/20 hindsight, seeing what this year has turned into.

Year 4 will be when the defense will be stout. We have to get Riley’s recruits not Mikes...

Oh and Bob did leave because of health and he was exhausted. He probably left too because the heat he got for keeping mike around

Come on 67, the program is not that damn bad off. In fact, the current offense is the best offensive team OU has fielded and most likely in CFB. With as bad as the defense is, our Sooners are still damn good. Many teams dream to be able to field an offense as ours. I have more confidence in Riley to make the corrections needed than I ever did w/ bob Stoops.

If the rumors about Golden are true that will be a BIG start.
