@Josh_M you do a great job of covering OU recruiting. That goes without saying.
Understandably, recruiting forecasts have become even more difficult in the NIL era. In your write-ups I don’t see much reference to NIL, as it relates to how it will affect a recruit’s final decision. Generally, the write-ups appear to give most of the weight to how a recruit liked the staff and atmosphere of the school. While that is certainly very important to a recruit’s decision, is it possible that the most important factor is now NIL, especially for the mid to high 4 stars and 5 stars?
If that is the case, is it possible for you to mention for each recruit’s write-up, forecast etc., how much of a factor NIL will be in his recruitment, and where OU stands regarding NIL in that recruit’s decision (or NIL in general compared to the schools OU is competing with in that recruitment)?
It just seems that based solely on the responses of the recruits after they visit OU, we should finish with the #1 class. Obviously that’s not going to happen. I’m just wondering if it’s possible to put a recruit’s glowing response to an OU visit in perspective as it relates to the NIL strength of OU compared to the schools they are competing against for said recruit?
Again, you do a great job with recruiting, just wondered if we could get a little more insight into how much you think NIL will be a factor in each recruits decision.
