the evidence Plainosooner posted in the other thread is quite damning imo... Really seems like while the state puts out elite DB's and WR's... It is putting out VERY few elite "trench" guys anymore.
So my question is this - is 7 on 7 football hurting recruiting overall for OU?
The sad reality is that Texas has been pathetic, OU mediocre, A&M mediocre, and Baylor and TCU quite good... But other than that... There hasn't been any consistently solid teams that primarily get their players from Texas for quite some time. It appears that the talent level isn't NEAR what it once was in the early 90's and early 2000's, especially in the trenches.
If this is a problem that won't be fixed any time soon, what is the answer to the problem for OU's recruiting woes? Yes - winning changes everything, but that's a 2 way street - you need talent to win, and you need to win to get talent.
