Joe Castiglione responds to morning kickoff for West Virginia

Stupid thing does not want to open.

For selfish reasons I like the 11AM or 7PM start. I am no longer able to travel to the games. The 2:30 game many times gets delayed on TV due to overtime or such. I remember one year where we missed nearly a full quarter waiting for the 11 AM game ahead of us to end. That's just me. I feel for the game day travelers.

The ONLY good thing about 11:00 am kick is that you can get home in time to watch the evening games on TV. Other than that, it absolutely sucks. Oh wait... the ladies wear less clothing over their silicone jobs for the day games. Never mind. Ignore my post. Thanks.

As early as you get out of bed I would think a 11 AM start would be like an evening game for you..............:)

I like 1100 kickoffs because people are generally less drunk than evening kicksoffs.

You got something against beer?

As an out-of-state fan, I like the 11 (noon in ATL) games. I also understandt the players like the early games, but those living in surrounding states must get on the road early in the a.m. Makes for a long day for some.

Well, clearly it's an age dominant issue.
If you're over 45-fitty, you prefer the 11s or 2:30s, if you're a young cat you like the evenings.

It's not rocket surgery.o_O

I like early, then I can relax and watch other games. I think Mr. Castiglione must like to sleep in.

FNL, the big dollar advertising comes in prime time. The networks are going to show the big games where it fills their pockets. I remember the old days where all the games started at 1:30.............LOL

It's all OUs and the Ga. Bulldogs fault you know...if they hadn't won the lawsuit against the heavy handed NCAA in the early eighties, then all games would start at 1:30...and no night games!

Gosh, we're Satan.:p

I just deleted a detailed rationale of why I like the early starts. Succinctly stated, I have no problem with them.

I like early games because I like to drink on Saturday nights and don't like being drunk during the game because it's hard to follow what's going on and appreciate it.

Drinks or not, the national perception is that 2:30, 6:00 pm or later are the "prime-time" money makers and should be the Only times we play (except for the RRR). We have to get a lot better to always have those times again like we had for most of 2000-2010, in my humble opinion of course.

The way the Sooners are playing its good to wait a quarter or 2 before watching, easier on the blood pressure! ;-)

Kind of strange but I had an Arkansas (another OU hating) fan make that exact comment to me. "It's all OU's fault". You just can't have intelligent conversation with those folks.

...and my like literally has to do what you have to deal with on game day...much less everyday. I like 11 because it comes right after the Spin has done it's thing and most likely I can get on with the rest of the things I need to get done on a Saturday.

I don't mind the 11 am games in Norman. My daughter and I fly in on Friday night. It gives us time to shop around for our annual sooner gear. This year I will take her to Bricktown. I like being on west coast time. These games start at 9 am. No waiting around. 9am - 1pm and 5pm PCT.

Also a West Coaster and I love them. Since OU wins most of them I am in a good mood for the rest of the day. If OU loses, I have a few and watch a great game that night to ease the pain. Works every time.

I don't think the BigXII has a night game the next two weeks

There was a discussion about this on the radio yesterday that the Big XII athletic directors are pretty upset and have filed complaints with the television networks. To me, it's just another sign that the Big XII is in a continuing decline. The public perception of not being in prime time is "out of sight, out of mind". Forgotten.

Thank you University of Texas.
