Jalen hurts is who I thought he was .... a running back trying to play quarterback

So you watched that game and your only issue is Jalen Hurts????
Not blaming the loss on Jalen Hurts , the defense showed its true colors in this game I was just making an observation on Jalen Hurts . I’m tired of hearing everyone talk about how great this average Quarterback is .

I like this team a lot. They did some amazing things and the improvement on defense was dramatic. Sometimes, you’re just out matched as was the case with LSU. We were too thin, and our offense of line could not compete

While it could be said that Hurts was Riley's best option for this year, I have not said he was"great". He had some great moments, but he had some screw ups too.
What Hurts' presence did do was to give Rattler and Mordecai a year to mature, develop and learn the system, which we should see the benefits of in 2020.

I doubt Ohio State feels any worse or better than what we feel, a loss is a loss.

The difference is they are selling D recruits on a team that was hard-hitting and earned Clemson and everyone else's respect. Meanwhile we're having to explain the fool's gold of a supposedly remade D unit. This is a tough loss in that respect - going to be make rebuilding the D that much harder.

For those of you piling on Hurts - a kid who took a ton of shots for this program and whose best simply wasn't good enough in the playoffs - you're no better than the petty squawking "real housewives." Put a sock in it already if you don't have an ounce of gratitude in you and move on.

No team is perfect especially ours, you just have to maximize the potential you have.

The 3 5 star WR came here because of Rattler and the passing scheme, we used none of that this year, wasting that potential , or at least putting it on a shelf this year....

The RBs were not fully utilized, but injuries as always struck the RB hard, but it was the scheme of running Jalen that took away from the RB utilization they are all faster than Hurts and don’t fumble....

The CB ended the season playing very well. The safeties and nickel were picked on due to inexperience since they were battle field promotions....

I think the regression of the offense to slow developing plays is partly LR and partly JH, I don’t expect that from Rattler at all.....

We need a dedicated pass rush team, we had it for one game, against TexASS , why did we shelve that.....

Mordecai? Did you see the look on his face when Riley put in Rattler? Mordecai. He gone.

In a presser at the hotel before leaving for Norman LR said the plan was to play both and if Rattler had gotten a 1st down Mordecai would have come in. He said he out Rattler in first because he had had less playing time earlier in the season. As far as the QB room next year is concerned, many think the Morris kid from Highland Park has signed an LOS but wants to announce at an all-star game. Mordecai may well transfer but only after he joins the battle with Rattler in spring and fall camp.

I was at the Game. Jalen wasn’t the reason we lost. Give me a break. The defense lost this game in Grinch’s inability to dial up pressure on Burrow and being in the wrong coverages. We needed to play man press coverage across the board and speed bump the inside receiver and play an extra man up front to bring pressure. We were running 3-Tech with our tackles and inside stunting and that was not the way to play LSU. We needed to run at least 1 Tech and outside stunt and bring inside pressure with our backers and knock Burrow on his ass. Bounty should have been 20 knockdowns. That should have been the goal. If we inside stunted we should have brought a safety or corner blitz. But we absolutely should have pressed the slot receivers and we didn’t. And it didn’t help that half of our crowd left and didn’t stay and fight. We stayed the entire game and I gave Joey Galloway the business for us. This game was lost on the defensive side of the ball plain and simple.

Another reason the defense lost this game, aside from whatever schemes that it did or did not use, is simply the overall lack of talent and depth on that side of the ball. LSU toyed with OU's defense with ease and I believe the LSU backup quarterback could have won the game decisively.

I cannot remember ever losing a game be it close or a rout. When you win you are happy, when you lose you aint. Simple as that.
Yep, and it was hurting early in the 2nd quarter yesterday...
