It is time for the Big XII to have 12 teams!

If OU beats TexASS and sits 12-0 then they are either #1 or #2. A CCG and 13-0 doesn't change that. A CCG against a team ranked #8-12 with OUr current record and Sparty might still move ahead of us. Main thing, OU is in it, now let's go win it.
#8 is past due. The monster is hungry.

Take away the FCS teams that every SEC team plays and see what Bama's opponents' winning PCT becomes. I'm sure all three schools would be impacted by that. But I disagree that Bama's schedule was that much tougher.

Florida played one power five NC opponent, and got their butts beat.

Same with Arkansas and UTenn. Ole Miss lost to Memphis, though that wouldn't count. A&M had a good win to open the season. Auburn almost lost to a good FCS school. Went overtime at home and eeked out when the opposing HC had a brain fart. You don't get to count the record of FCS team opponents. Two of their NC wins were over Idaho and Jacksonville State.

Florida played FSU at home. Got pummeled.
UTenn played OU at home and lost.
A&M didn't play Arizona State at home. They played them in Houston and won big.
Ole Miss and Miss State played no Power Five teams out of the conference.
Arkansas played Texas Tech at home and lost. They also lost to Toledo at home.
LSU played no OOC power five teams.
Auburn played Louisville at home and won.
So Bama SEC opponents played five games against power five teams. Four of the games were at home. The other was essentially a home game. They went 2-3. There were also additional losses to non power five teams.I'm not too impressed.

Wiscy for Bama is a good win, but my two best friends are both Badger fans and they'd tell you that they weren't that good this season. My point in this little dabble into the schedule specifics is that we can both bend stats to make our point. Rationally.

No doubt that over the last decade, that the SEC has been the best conference in the country. But you can't get them to play at a cold weather school when the weather is cold. They almost always have a home field advantage in bowl games and then brag about how great their bowl game record is. Let's see them play in the snow a time or two, and then see how their offense works in the conditions that Big Ten teams have to deal with for a quarter or a third of their schedule.

Alabama should have an advantage over Wisconsin if they play them indoors. They don't have to gear their offense and their program to deal with what the Badger program must. We're not going to an eight team playoff any time soon. But if it ever happens, let's play the first round in the stadium of the higher ranked team. We'll know a lot more about true quality of programs, if it ever happens.

None of these stats really matter, because the teams are going to play each other and settle it on the field (unless Alabama loses).

The truth is, all four of these playoff teams are exceptional, and all four definitely deserved to be selected. Making these silly "mine's bigger than yours" arguments is just childish and petty.

Hey, I think this tiger is my brother from another mother. I totally agree with this!

The lack of a championship game hurt OUr seeding and cost Baker a trip to NYC!

We need to expand NOW!!!

Add USF and maybe Cinci or Tulane or Temple and we would widen our footprint and have a championship game!

Imagine if Baker and OU had played the OsU game as a real championship while everyone else was struggling against lesser teams!

Not only might Baker have been in NYC, he might have taken the trophy! If OUr players play one less game, their stats will always be hurt!

The time is NOW for expansion!

It only hurt Mayfield, Dallas hurt OU for #3 and only USF (UCF better choice) helps big 12.

Next year bedlam is last day of year. That is much better for exposure than not
IMO, if the OU/OSU game would have been played the night of 12/5 instead of 11/28, I think we stay #3...

Yeah that was dumb scheduling I think is fixed for next season.

No way I would have wanted OU to have to play championship game, maybe a Baylor rematch in a championship game when they could have an off day guaranteed to get in the final 4.

Lots of good opinions and views here. I do though believe that the lack of that 13th game will cost the B12 champion more than not so its vital the B12 either expands or break into two 5 team divisions

The two division format without expanding would be my preference as long as they balance them out to where we would likely actually see the best 2 teams playing for the CCG. I wonder why Delaney is taking such an A-hole stance about divisions since we play round robin anyway and would match up the 2 best at seasons end under our current format. Maybe he likes having one weak division winner playing the tougher division.

If the B12 adds anyone for football then I think hands down it should be Boise and BYU because those schools would add to the perception of the conference. Yes I know people scoff at Boise but they continue to put out competetive and quality football teams year after year. The conference is already strong in BB so the main focus should be adding 2 quality football schools.

If helping WV feel more connected is the issue then add Cincinnati and No Illinois. Both schools add a little football and just thing about having a footprint in the Chicago area for football.

USF and UCF may be large schools but lets face it Florida is SEC country and OU would be better off just joining the SEC if those options are discussed ( the UCF and USF ootions to B12.

I think we all miss Casa Bonita and Krystals but I miss Godfathers Pizza more than any of them.

Well, if I may distinguish us from the rest...OU has no problem with the championship game.

In that regard the format was all too kind to us. We only lost 2 out of 9 when we had the CCG.

It takes a lot to get OU 'gruntled'.
All you have to do is win and everything will fall into place, generally speaking.:D

I really cringe to correct your greatness = But OU only lost 1 CCG (2003 = the year of infamy). OU's record in the CCG is 7-1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_12_Championship_Game

I think you may have misinterpected what I meant in regard to saying the lack of a CCG ( the 13th game) could cost the conference. I didnt mean OU just that the committee has already shown having that 13th game weighs heavy in the selection process.

Much rather (try to) bring back Nebraska & Missouri.

Agree with that Cat, both teams need to be back where they belong, but probably won't happen.
