iasooner... can you explain the Iowa Caucus process?

LOL!!! You guy's very rarely, yes very rarely, start a thread post. You just dump on them..............

Rarely?
How about NEVER!

Their whole pathetic purpose here is to read others stuff, get jealous that they didn't write it, and shit on it.

To have an interesting, original thought about anything is not in their wheelhouse, and at this tragically late stage in their development, it never will be.

That, as they are so want to say, is "just sad".

If I could transplant Des Moines in Texas, I would live in Des Moines. Des Moines learned long ago how to bury utilities. Much of Texas is just now catching on. Much of Texas still doesn't get it.
Two brand new streets in Waco have no overhead blight. Lawton, OK has been designing such streets since 1970.

I've always contended that Des Moines reminds me kind of like the Tulsa of my youth. It's had its sprawling phases but still is a MUCH easier commute than today's Tulsa which makes me sad...

On another note; fitz there were to be NO pics of my "Candy-Dates"; those must be preserved in a top-secret place; preferably nowhere near a Clinton server...

Tulsa in my youth, played Drake, from Des Moines twice a year in basketball. My junior year in HS, the Bulldogs made the national semifinal and gave Alcindor's great UCLA teams their only tough game in the NCAA's, losing by either one or three. Willie Wise. Dolph Pulliam. Willie McCarter .... Wise was one of the early great players of the ABA, playing inside at only 6'5 I think.

And when the Golden Hurricane beat them in Des Moines early in the season, Tulsa led the Valley for several weeks. But back then, only the conference champs made the NCAA's. Bingo Smith, then known as Bobby, Eldridge Webb, Rob (I think) Washington. Those guys could play. Smith had a pretty good NBA career mostly with the Cavaliers. I'd moved to Plano by then, but listened to Lynn Morton call the games on KVOO, 250 miles away. Morton was one of the great crybaby broadcasters of all time. But I loved listening to those games, two decades before anybody ever heard of ESPN, or even conceived of it.

I loved TU basketball broadcasts.

Really, well, the plot thickens.
How much?:D

1 whole US dollar ! (although the payment could be in pennies) Actually the conditions were sketchy; I think both our 'horses' placed but neither finished in first place. I had the evening penned for a couple of hours off, mid-shift but I was too busy to leave and therefore disenfranchised from the process. Reports from my precinct were that the Rube won in our 'house' with 40% of the support.

Bring on a snow day!

Yes I remember listening to TU b-ball and have despised the nose for years when his orange men ruined an NIT final or semi-final for the Hurricane way back then...

Y'all talking the Mizzou Valley Conf.
Either Tulsa was marginal or the 'Valley' was a beast.
I can't remember, seems like Wichita State and Drake broke the Hurricanes hearts a lot back then.
Ah, memories.

"barkingwater2000, post: 910503, member: 6958" Trust me Yankee they aren't worth reading or making comments to anymore. These last couple of days have confirmed that. There are a lot of good people here and its much more enjoyable to associate with...

How can your associating be enjoyable when you guys are "not here to make friends"? That seems highly contradictory.

...them [sic] instead of the bottom feeders of society.

So, you and your buddies' conduct here over the past 48 hours makes you the upper-crust of society? That may be so out in West Bedspring, OK where even Walmart could'nt stand it any longer. That's not how it works in a civil, educated society. You should thank the admin in all those emails, that you are still here. I'm amazed, actually. He must be a patient and merciful man.

I've got a huge windfall en route from 22 after tonight's results !

Well, the title of this thread did not interest me in the least, but I held my nose and dived in because I knew you'd be posting something like this. Woody, please text me your home address, and I'll make good.

I'd of never thought you'd talk about ST in such a way, yet you described him perfectly...

Ah, memories.

The Valley was a beast of a conference. UCinn was in the conference back then. I think I was eight when my dad took me to see the Bearcats at the Fairgrounds Pavilion. Told me we were going to watch The Big O. Oscar Robertson never won a national title but immediately after he graduated, the Bearcats won back to back and then went for a three peat in '62, but lost to Loyola of Chicago in either OT or double O. I didn't know anybody about Robertson or could even appreciate his greatness watching. But some say he was the most complete player ever in the NBA.

Wichita, before they were called Wichita State, had Dave Stallworth. Bradley had Chet Walker. Drake could play. Tulsa's best player of the early 60s was Jim King, called Country. He played in the NBA for close to a decade. Good shooter. That was back when there were maybe ten teams in the league. You had to be pretty good to play that long.

North Texas State played in a little gym in Denton. For a very short time, Memphis and Louisville came into the Valley during the mid 60s. Louisville had Wes Unseld. Neither stayed very long. But they could play hoops in the MVC.

When OSU won back to back national titles in 1945 and 46, they were called Oklahoma A&M. Bob Kerland was their best player. Hank Iba their coach. They were part of the Missouri Valley conference from 1928 to 56. Went independent for three years, then joined the Big 8.

So for a 20 year span from 1945 to 64, the Valley had four national titles and a couple other teams who made the national finals.

22 I must say that you have been the one major disappointment to me. I thought we had been friends and put our differences aside for several months now, but it has become apparent that you aren't able to do that. I'm not surprised by any of the info we have all learned the past few days because I never really had much expectations to begin with. You, however, I thought might actually be a man of your word. I was wrong

How will I ever recover from this? I disappointed a slime ball.

I guess a leopard just can't change his spots. Eventually and gradually you have reverted back to your old self which is highly disappointing. Every man has to make his own choices though. You can choose to take the high road or you can continue to lay in the gutter with criminals and losers. You had the chance and I'm sorry you completely blew it.

22, me and you have bumped heads plenty in the past. But for quite a while now you've been a really solid poster and I've very much enjoyed the mature discussion we have had since then. I really hate to see this post where you have resorted to name calling again.

Ah, what does it matter? If you live through what happens on this board, good, bad, or indifferent, that should tell you all you need to know. Get a life. Too many crybabies on this site, IMO.
