The sun came up and maybe the fact that I'm about to turn 50 is mellowing me, but still a tough loss. The Vol boards are full of comments about the classy Oklahoma fans and I hope you were all met with hospitality and sportsmanship. Congrats on a really impressive comeback, so much heart. Best wishes for the rest of the season.

yer pal,

Vol fans treated us great. Before and after the game we were told thanks for coming from numerous fans. What a great stadium and atmosphere, one of my favorite away games to date.

Good to hear all the good vibes this morning.

Contrast that with the shabby way OU fans are treated in that sewer that is New Orleans.

Ditto what Texjef 84 said. The Vol fans were incredibly welcoming and friendly. You can say all you want about the Husker fans being the friendliest, but these Vol fans are first class all the way. Many fans stopped ups to welcome us to town or to say they were glad we made the trip. Some even commented on how they went to Norman last year and how well they were received by the OU fans. Of course there were a few good-natured barbs with some of the younger fans, but overall, they were very polite, helpful as well as passionate about their program.

Neyland Stadium is incredible and seeing the Vol Navy on the Tennessee River is really cool. The orange-and-white clad fans in the sections inside stadium was cool, but I was very impressed by how much crimson filled the stadium. The Sooners were very well represented last night. Until last night, the loudest stadium I have ever heard was during the OU vs. Bama game in Bryant-Denny Stadium (2003?) by their 94,000 fans. Last night's game was deafening from start to finish. 102,455 fans can make a lot of noise and the Vol fans were rocking, which was all night long, you could not hear yourself think. If they had some recruits at the game last night, I guarantee you that they all signed letters of intent just based on how loudly the fans got behind the team. It was truly an impressive display of fan support.

After the game, I did get a few handshakes and congrats, but I think most Vols were too stunned to speak and had a dazed look in their eyes. Of course I'll be cheering for the Vols each week so that it helps our strength of schedule. And even though my son graduated from Georgia, Tennessee might just be my favorite SEC team.
