Sooner fan trying to not get caught on the Mayfield hype train too early, how much more do we need to see before boarding?
Jake Trotter: OU fans won't want to hear this, but Blake Bell was getting similar hype after similar performances early on in 2013. Bell won at Notre Dame (a comparable opponent to this year's Tennessee) and also shredded Tulsa. A month later, Bell -- and the OU offense -- fell apart. So let's see how Mayfield does against West Virginia and Texas. If he shines in those games, you should feel reasonably comfortable boarding the hype train.
