I know, it's basically "another TBOW thread." And, this subject has been brought up (to varying degrees) before, but seeing it all laid out is telling.
Riley came to OU in January 2015. Players who committed to OU before 01/2015 are considered "inherited." The first season of eligibility at OU is in parenthesis.
Offensive, (no doubt) NFL-caliber players, TBOW "inherited" at OU:
Shep (2012)
Orlando Brown (2014)
Perine (2014)
Mixon (2014)
Andrews (2014)
Cody Ford (2015)
Bobby Evans (2015)
Rodney Anderson (2015) (we know how this went, but he was a "no doubt" NFL caliber player and played like it at OU)
Mayfield (2015) (transfer)
Westbrook (2015) (juco)
"No-doubters" brought in five years under TBOW at OU:
Ceedee (2017)
Creed (2017)
Murray (2017) (transfer)
Hurts (2019) (transfer)
Powers (2016) (juco)
Marquise Brown (2017) (juco)
Rhamondre (2019) (juco)
Important to note; players on the top list spent much (if not all) of their time at OU with Schmidt. And Ceedee and Creed each had one year with Schmidt.
TBOW was struggling hard to evaluate, recruit, and/or develop HS talent on offense.
There are some other guys who got a cup of coffee in "the League", but I didn't consider them NFL "no-doubters." Is this list unfair? Did I leave anyone out?
It's actually a lot more lopsided than I expected when I started making the list.
