Girls seeded 5th...

I was going to post the exact same thing. I'm surprised that the NCAA committee didn't put Texas ahead of them. They're both five seeds. I know nothing about Stanford this year, but they must have had some struggles to be a four seed after being the only team in 80 games to beat UConn. They did it early in the season.

The first round is not a pushover. They are like 32-3. Then having to beat Stanford there. And if they conquer that and get back to OKC for the Sweet 16, Notre Dame is likely the second best team in the country. And after that, Baylor would likely await the winner. It is a very tough bracket. If they make it back to OKC, it will be a quality accomplishment.

It seems strange to me that Stanford and Call are both four seeds in a tournament where there is a huge difference between being a four and a five. A five seed travels to play at a four seed in round two if they make it. It's the way the women do the bracket.

From now on, every win is a quality accomplishment.

It is absurd that the Pac 12 had four teams seeded to the Sweet Sixteen. Stanford got there because they won the Pac 12 tournament after finishing in a tie for third in the conference. The top two teams didn't even qualify for the title game. Stanford did beat UConn when UConn really played a bad road game. But, they surrendered that by losing at home to Texas before going to Tennessee and losing to the Vols and Chattanooga. They also lost to North Carolina. Then, they had the same conference record as we did, but in a conference in which the bottom seven were really weak, guaranteed wins. Well,, they would have been guaranteed wins for most teams, but they lost to Oregon (13-17) and Arizona (10-20) as well.

We can beat them at Palo Alto. Texas did, easily.

I'm going to make an off the wall statement. If we have two or three male officials we'll win. If we have two or three female officials, we'll have a very hard time winning.

Remember, Texas had a very tall team and pretty likely Stanford and a little letdown after ending the UConn long win streak. And Texas also had their best player who got hurt before they beat OU in the XII semi's.

Actually, we beat Texas when they had Nneka Enempkali. After they lost her, they beat us in Austin and in the tournament. I think we fouled out like four players in Austin for them to win in OT.

The biggest question is if any team can beat Connecticut. I don't see that happening.
Stanford won in overtime 88-86 in the Huskies' second game of the year at Stanford, but that defeat only served UConn well in the long run. It brought them back to earth and made the team focus more on what they needed to do to get better. It was a "quality loss" for UConn.
The team UConn now is nowhere near what the team was in November. South Carolina, number 1 when they played UConn a month ago, Notre Dame and Duke found this out.

There is no team in UConn's class this year. It would take everyone on UConn having a bad night, or someone having a sensational night. Nobody else has a Breanna Stewart.

No, but she did need a fire lit under her. She went through her asleep at the wheel period like Stoops did and the recruiting really suffered. She seems to have woken up somewhat, the last couple of seasons had something to do with that I am sure. The fan base was shrinking, attendance was down and people were starting to grumble. She has some talent coming in the next couple of seasons and she can coach them up once they get there. It is really frustrating watching us fall so far behind Baylor, but given that they (Baylor) have pretty much decided to do whatever it takes to win (and they are getting away with it in all sports) I guess that is understandable.

Coale (not Cole) is not leaving unless SHE wants to leave and that seems very improbable.
And if she left....or was fired....how would OU find anyone better ?
I believe Coale is as good as OU can get and both OU and her know it.
