Parker played with fire in T1, ,pitching from behind to five hitters. First and second with no outs on a hit and a BB. But Pendley made a great play for a force on a grounder up the middle for one out, first and third. Then a huge pitch of a pop out to Casey at second for out number two. Hot grounder but right at Chamberlain for the third out. Great defense doesn't hurt. No score.

B1 Chamberlain took a 3-2 change up for strike three. Pendley seemed to hit a liner, but it was soft to second and thrown out. Miller lined softly to third. Out in order.

No score after an inning.

Both teams are starting the freshmen pitchers who started game one.

Parsons is starting in center. Nirschl is the DP.

Bama goes in order in T2. Great play by Arnold diving to her left to throw out the second batter. The Callie Parsons, starting for the first time in a while, broke in on a routine fly to center and made it a little exciting, but squeezed it for the third out.

No score to B2.

Sooners go in order again. Casey struck out on a 2-2 curve out of the zone. Parker flew out to right center deep. Self can o corn to right. After two, no score.

Pitching behind again didn't work. She walked their number two hitter and number three, Spencer, went yard on a 3-2 pitch. That same hitter hit two against us in OKC last year and had a double last night to drive in a run. Cleanup popped to Casey. Two runs, one it. Bama 2-0 headed to B3.

Still no baserunners for OU. Nirschl bunted into a 5-3.

Arnold batting today instead of Ellis, chased to rise balls to K.

Parsons took strike three. It looked inside. Bama 2-0 headed to T4.

Bama went in order.

Chamberlain hit it almost to the warning track in left center, but caught for the first out.

Pendley first base runner on a pitch in her ribs. One on,, one out. Miller popped to short, in short left.

Casey popped to center on the first pitch. First base runner, but still no hits.

Bama 2-0, quickly head to the fifth.

Bama gets a lead runner on a misplayed bunt. Casey dropped Parker's throw at first. Might have been safe, anyway. Bunted to second. But Parker fanned one and two hitters. Bama still leads 2-0 headed to B5.

Sooners get their first hit, by Parsons again with two on via walks. But with the bases loaded on a 2-0 to Chamberlain, a horrible strike call changes the inning. Two swings and misses for the third out. Still 2-0 Bama heading to T6.

Bama got a two out walk, but nothing else.

Sooners have one hit a five base runners and head to B6 down 2-0.

Parker
Sooners get a walk but go quietly and with one hit, go down 2-0 in game two. Game three will start around 7:15.

Parker threw 1 fat pitch and 25 less pitches than Bamr's starter who has thrown 148 pitches in 2 games. Lady Sooners need to take the bat off their shoulder be aggressive early in the count and take some good cuts . OU is a better team up and down the lineup with better defense IMO. Let's not lose again to BAMR in a big game after winning game one.

I loath the SEC

That one call of Lauren may have changed the entire game. With the bases loaded and a 2-0 count, Osorio threw a high inside pitch, rise ball? It was clearly inside (Later got the same call on Casey), probably high. They called it a strike. It seemed to get to Lauren. She swung badly at the next two. Had that been called correctly as a ball, either Lauren gets a 3--0 pitch to hit or walks. With Osorio a bit wild in that inning, if she walks,, Shelby probably has a good shot at either getting a pitch to hit or walking in the tying run. One bad call hurt.

Actually, I thought the home plate umpire gave Osorio a bit too much of the corner, especially on left-handers. Some of those pitches were clearly outside, and they kept putting our hitters in an 0-1 hole. I'll be glad to change umpires.

Both pitchers threw two-hitters. In tight games, home runs matter. Same happened at LSU--a one-pitch loss on a two-hitter.

The pitcher for Alabama is impressive. Hopefully Lauren comes around. Shelby just got robbed of a 2-run HR by their centerfielder. Unbelievable.

Lauren hits # 94 and #95. She knows that she needs to go to OKC in order to break 100.

Hard way to lose. We really had two people live up to their billing this weekend, Paige and Lauren. Some simply didn't show up.

The irony about the seeding is that from what I've heard, it might have been hard to play in Norman this weekend. But an 11 seed was more than a little unfair. Seeding Mizzou ahead of OU was ridiculous.

I think that Patti expressed her disapproval of he seeding, and she wasn't too pleased with the umpire in the first game. It is unfortunate that Alabama and OU were probably two of the top four teams in the nation, and the committee had them in the regionals as opponents.
