*Oklahoma's commitment from Jordan Parker makes him the highest rated California cornerback the Sooners have landed since 2002. As defensive backs only Tony Jefferson and Aaron Miller were rated higher, but both as safeties.
*In fact Parker is the only four-star cornerback, high school or otherwise, that the Sooners have ever landed in California.
*Parker is the first October commitment Oklahoma has had since October 11, 2009, when Corinth (Texas) Lake Dallas four-star offensive tackle Daryl Williams pledged to the Sooners.
*Parker and Bryce Youngquist give the Sooners a pair of Rivals250 members from the state of California, which makes the fourth time in the last seven classes they've done so. 2010 (Jefferson, Kenny Stills, and Brennan Clay), 2012 (Taylor McNamara and Derrick Woods), 2013 (Hatari Byrd and L.J. Moore), and 2014 (Joe Mixon and Michiah Quick).
*He is the third commitment from the Bay area in the last three years, one from each of the 2014, 2015, and 2016 classes. In 2014, of course it was Mixon of Oakley Freedom and last year it was Dru Samia of Danville San Ramon Valley.
