Parking was always problematic but in recent years, the University closed all lots and parking garages near the stadium to the public and reserved them for the Donor Class.

There are a few options that don't entail 20 mile hikes. One is to park at the Civic Colosseum. Only about 3.5 or so miles up Neyland Drive from the Stadium and shuttle bus service will take you to and from the game.

They have built a cluster of hotels around it that are within easy walking distance to the Colosseum or you can park for free in the Colosseum parking lot

Here is a hotel registry of the surrounding area with addresses, phone numbers and prices as well as a map showing location.

Hope that it might be of some use. The map doesn't show the location of Neyland Stadium, but for some reason, it does show the Thompson-Bowling Basketball Arena which is next door. Odd.
