FAVORITE OU GAME IN PERSON

could do least favorite too....ou-tx 2013....HUGE vegas point spread favors undefeated ou...snag a cheap ticket on the tx side right before the game cuz they know t-sips know they're gonna get killed. what happens? we play like dogsh*t and i have to listen to bevo bob behind me say "i cant believe we're beating you!" 150 times.
Glad you mentioned 'Least Fave' Tollbooth...I've been wanting to skew the thread and throw out 'Most Memorable', but refrained, since you really did create a nice thread. However, and isn't there ALWAYS a However? I still get upset when thinking about the domers ending The Streak...Was anyone else at that one, besides me 'n' Methuselah? :(

SS...... you are the best! I’m so happy that you are onthis board. Nobody else has the same perspective as you on the greatest team of all time!thank you for being here!❤️
It is My Pleasure ps, and Thank YOU for your kind words...They mean a LOT to me...;)

Senior, you are this board's "gold standard".
My memory of the 1957 Notre Dame game was my brother crying afterwards.....as he did when Mazeroski homered in the 9th inning of game 7 to win the 1960 World Series.
I own a VHS tape of the 1957 Notre Dame game. OU came close to tying that game after Dick Lynch scored for ND in the closing minutes, but an interception in the end zone sealed the deal.

I was at Walt's News Stand in Lawton when the Domers ended the streak listening on the radio. Some guy had a heart attack just after the game. I was just back from a 3 year stint in Germany while OU never lost a football game. I played pony league baseball in Germany for a former Pittsburgh Pirate.

OU made the newsreel regularly at the post theater adding to their 47 game win streak.

I once heard that a fan suffered a fatal heart attack when Joe Don Looney ran 62 yards in the 4th quarter to beat Syracuse 7-3 in the 1962 opener.
I listened to the Syracuse radio broadcast that day while living in NJ and the announcers were scrambling to find out who #33 was. (Looney had transferred from Cameron JC and had only been at OU two weeks).

My wife was at the '57 ND game. 60 plus K sat in stunned silence minutes after the end of the game. My memory of the Looney run vs 'Cuse was a visual. My seats were on the first row in the corner of the NW part of the stadium. When Joe Don broke loose, he literally disappeared over the crown of the field and I never saw him score. My best friend was in OCS after college with a DB on the Orange team. He said Looney blew by him before he could react.

i think we all come here to stay current with the greatest college football team in history...but i have to say it's these kinds of stories....(Sunburnt and CT and SS and others) that is also why this board is so great. please keep em coming!

its when OU played Ohio State at home. Im an OU alum, but grew up a Buckeye fan. It amazed me how cocky everybody was that OU was going to kick heck out of Ohio State. I was also at the game OU won in the Shoe. Turn about fair play

Least favorite for me was the 1989 game at Nebraska. The second Sooner game I ever attended. Sooners lost that one.

That Oregon game was Sooner fan's first opportunity to see Mike Thomas, star recruit from Greenville, TX. show his stuff. First time he touched the ball he went all the way for a TD ( 70 plus I think ). Our LH depth chart was Pruitt, Washington, and Thomas. I should have mentioned the '72 CU game in Boulder as a memorable game. We lost to J.V. Cain and the Buffs.
Mike and his brothers, Earl & Jimmy (RIP) have been personal friends of mine for many years. Mike and I have attended many OU games and many alumni functions in Houston over the years. I was always amazed at how many recognized him.

PS: Mike missed his calling. He can make a Temptations song sound better than David Ruffin.
