I should have known when the sunshine pumping started immediately upon him getting hired, that he wasn't gonna be very good. Everyone was just trying to get over the Cale Gundy firing so we start saying stupid shit early on like Emmett jones is a good recruiter and developer of wr talent. Didn't get a single 5 star or even close and were saying he's the next brian hartline. Also don't forget the numerous wr that commited than left that we gave him credit for. Every receiver that played this year was worse than what I thought besides Jacob Jordan and he's a JAG realistically. Most defenses were able to just sit there in cover 1 press man and never worry about getting exposed. I understand qb play was just awful and top 5 wr were out. Still there are so many plays where every receiver is blanketed, they all give up and just sit there watching Arnold scramble. Receiver blocking was also the worst I've seen at ou. We use to have our best receiver blocking their ass off (ceedee lamb) and it would spread to the rest of them. Not saying we need to fire Emmet and immediately get Gundy back I know that wont happen, but I feel like Emmett gets a pass that none of they other coaches get. When imo he had the worst position group this year. Also dropping marcus and gracen harris for veteran receivers seems to be a stupid decision if we don't keep any of the veteran receivers.
