Oklahoma made a huge hire for GM. Jim Nagy has been running the Reece’s Senior Bowl for years. He’s viewed as a guy that knows how to recruit players for events/games and has a deep, deep Rolodex with agents and more. So, in the world of NIL, this is what most would call a HUGE, HUGE hire.

Sunday, I got a call that Nagy was offered by someone that OU had reached out to and asked their opinion on the potential hire. This source told OU how good of hire Nagy would be and they were also asked about Alonzo Dotson, former Sooner and head scout for Buffalo Bills.

Those two were the top two candidates for this hire, according to multiple sources. The funny part is that OU kept the Nagy offer very quiet. Not even the OU staff was made privy of him as a candidate, from what OUInsider was told. Sure, Brent Venables knew, but if our sources are correct, and with them telling us Sunday that Nagy was the lead guy that was offered Friday night, we have no reason to believe they aren’t telling us facts in that it was a point of emphasis to not have the potential hire leak too soon.

At the end of the day, this was a GRAND SLAM hire by Oklahoma. This shows how much they are taking the NIL world serious. Now, let’s see how the trio of Nagy, Jake Rosenberg, and Randall Stephenson work for Sooners moving forward.
