So listening to Lebby talk about Iowa State’s defense and how they are playing above their level because of their buy in to their system and their effort and it got me thinking. Do we have a bunch of quitters along the D Line?

Before K-State we were basically saying the same thing about our defense after Nebraska. Reggie Grimes was playing his best ball motivated by his grandmother and the line seemed be be doing well. So well in fact it was covering up our deficiencies at LB and safety.

Fast forward fo the mental mistakes vs KState and we lost a game we should could have won. We go into TCU and the defensive line was non existent giving Duggan all the time in the world to make easy pitch and throw catches. The same play TCU hit us on for the deep pass was the same one Kent State had open 2x but the difference being against Kent State we flushed the qb and he didn’t see it. Called it out 2x with the wife in the stands when it happened.

So my question is, what happened to the line and that motor? Did we get punched in the mouth and just quit? It’s the same #23, #28, #2 and #23 on the field behind the D Line that we pick on as the first 3 wins. The same guys from last year. So did we quit in effort? In buy-in? OL blocking in the conference can’t be that amazing can it? Im so confused where the DLine went.
