But if he and his parents would have given OU a chance, they would have had an amazing time today in Norman with the coaching staff, the fellow recruits and the buzz that is Oklahoma right now. They would have gotten to know Riley -- not only the coach -- but the man, and they would have been blown away, especially if they dared to compare him to the other head coaches they've been dealing with.
It's a shame. Oklahoma is going to have a great team this year and even better teams in the very near future. He could have been part of -- maybe even been the key -- in them winning a national championship.
Without knowing his personal feelings, I got the sense Dax wanted to visit today. I think the family was afraid they might like it too much and it would only complicate a decision they pretty much have already made.
In the end, Dax probably would have picked the Tide whether he visited Norman today or not. But he and his family missed out on a great time and a great weekend.
