You can’t help but notice what a tremendous athlete Parker is. He has a combination of pure unadulterated speed and great change of direction. His natural fluidity and agility allow him to cover ground the entire 360 degrees around him quickly. Parker’s also fast enough to blow by guys on offense and chase down runners with a 10-yard head start on defense.
When the ball is in the air Parker has terrific awareness and ball skills to culminate his efforts into turnovers and big momentum swinging plays for his team. There are two plays consecutively starting around the 1:13 mark that really showcase his ability to understand what the quarterback is trying to do, use his ridiculous speed to make-up distance, and then come down with contested interceptions to showcase his ball skills.
Parker has plenty of size to play corner at the next level, but will never be a huge physical presence. There’s also not enough on here to really gauge how effective he’ll be coming off blocks and playing the run. However, I like Parker immensely as a cover corner whose athletic ability and ball skills give him a chance to be elite.
