He and Dad have a great relationship with the one and only Chawlee Strong and have now set an official visit to UT. No kid who has committed to OU would even think of visiting Texas if they truly wanted to bleed Crimson and Cream. Good luck all the same.

If he switches to UT it better be that he wants to go to UT and not because of Strong. Good chance Strong will be gone after next year.

He isn't 100% gone. He has set some visits. He also has a visit set for Ohio State. And several other schools are possible for visits a week or two after that. He was just offered by Tennessee in the last day or two, so that's prolly gonna be a future visit as well. This is becoming more and more typical these days. Commit to a school to get a guaranteed spot, then shop around to see if you can snag a sweeter deal elsewhere.

Waaaaaay too early to worry about which kids will flip and which ones will stay.

About the only guarantee I can make is that between now and NSD we will lose a kid we thought we had, and gain a kid we didn't think we'd get.

It's only happened, like, every single year. Ever.

If Daniels (or whom ever) decides to go elsewhere, I'll just wish him well.

UT needs DT/DEs ba for next year, but they really need a couple of good JUCO DTs/DEs. Strong won't get them and will be gone after 2016. He needs to go at least 8-4 to keep his jobs and he can't do that being in a shootout every week. Freshmen DTs are not sure fires, usually much better as RS sophomores.

Yep, yous guys are getting into an area that I've learned to avoid.
That is the overthink of what we need to the degree that you are.

I used to do it too.
I started kicking the cats around, drinking too much...then it hit me, our coaches are getting paid a butt load of money to make all those decisions for me.

Needless to say, I sleep much better, rehab isn't mandatory and the cats couldn't love me more.:D

Being a coach is like being a salesman. I can't imagine my livelihood requiring the kissing of a 17 year old's posterior. And if you make the sale -- keeping all of them inline and still kissing their posterior. I think my job is easier --- being a Monday-morning-quarterback hidden behind the wall of the internet.

We're a couple of weeks out from siging day and OU is sitting at #32... let that sink in.
Ya right now it's looking pretty slim. Sure OU is still in the hunt for some big targets, and rumors they could still flip a couple of big players. But ya know what, the other 31 teams ranked ahead of OU can all say the same thing. OU doesn't have a monopoly on flipping guys and still waiting on decisions from bigtime recruits. So in the end, it may all even out and OU finishes right about where they are now.

Yeah, it's very disquieting that Duke has a better class than does OU right now.

It's insane actually.
Ya but look at the overall quality of their class. They are ranked ahead of OU simply because of numbers of recruits. Look at the average * quality. OU is 3.4 and Duke is 3.05. So Duke's class has quantity, whereas OU's class has higher quality. ;)

32 quantity or quality... it's still 32
I'm sure we'll get a bump, but 32 at this point is pretty weak sauce folks. It's on the coaches to either get quality players or 'coach'em up'. Either way, it's on the coaches.

This has the haunting distinction of being the first class of Stoops' that could actually finish outside of the top 20.
What the hell?

I know. Not trying to overly sugar coat the situation, but just trying to I guess.....semi-sugar coat. Lol :D

How many spots does OU still have to fill in this class?? If it's more than say 5 or 6, then I would say there are serious issues this late in the game. I would think at this point, OU should have the bulk of the class wrapped up and maybe leave a few spots open for surprises on signing day.
