Coaching | We all assume Grinch leaves after this year but what do you think his standard should be for leaving? Like how good of a job would need to be on the table to make jumping the right call for him vs maybe staying for a 4th year and seeing if something better comes open? Also what would your personal standard be in his shoes? | ATXSooner85 | I think not just a power 5 team but a power 5 team with evidence to prove they can be a NY6 type of program. Mabe not the TOP of the mountain but programs where you can win 10 games fairlly consistently. Some examples... Penn State, Michigan, Florida State, Miami, Auburn, etc. I will say at Miami, I'm not sure how he'd fit at all. Football CRAZED guys and Miami...I don't know. |
Coaching | OU wins a national championship this season thanks in large part to their top 10-15ish defense. Riley decides to take the next step and move to the NFL. Would Grinch be a likely candidate to replace him? If not, who do you think would be the top 3 candidates? | JordanWallace | Yeah, I'd be very surprised in that scenario of Grinch didn't get the job. But if I'm wrong... Billy Napier, Jamey Chadwell, and Brent Venables. |
General | How bad is Nebraska? And how many points is OU the early favorite by? 28 right? | mbauer09 | Pretty awful. I mean you thought if they could do anything, they'd score points but man...it just hasn't happened and you've seen LITTLE development from Adrian Martinez - for whatever reason. I'm TERRIBLE with line guesses but I'd bet it's 30+. |
General | Do we know who is catering and should we be concerned Lincoln is going to try and do the brisket himself? | mtsooner_ou | hahahahaha, I don't think Lincoln is going to try but if I'm him I'd work out a deal with an elite BBQ joint to have a video of him pulling it off of his grill. |
General | post-Spring 4 CFP teams | 92 grad | Alabama Oklahoma Clemson Ohio State CHALKY, REAL CHALKY |
General | Your all Eleanor Roosevelt high school team. Fastest starting 22 or guys you've covered | SoonerCK1 | QB: Kyler Murray RB: Adrian Peterson WR: Marquise Brown WR: Mecole Hardman WR: DeSean Jackson TE: Colt Lyerla OT: Lane Johnson OG: Bryce Foster C: Gabe Ikard OG: John Michael McGee OT: Bobby Evans DE: Torrodney Prevot DT: Ed Oliver DT: Geno Atkins DE: Devonte Fields LB: Travis Lewis LB: Stephone Anthony LB: C.J. Mosley CB: Gentry Williams CB: Jack Jones S: Craig Loston S: Eric Cuffee |
General | 2019 LSU vs 2020 Alabama who you got and why | Sooner_in_Seattle | I'd have 2019 LSU as I think they've got the better quarterback play and could more consistently score. I also think they were more dangerous as pass rushers (even if they weren't as consistently good up front). |
General | Have you ever heard of any guys out there in your line of work that moonlight as bag men? | Steve_2466 | One of the alleged rumor might work for Florida State these days... |
General | What offensive formation do you think will work best next year and why? What group of three receivers will be the most cohesive unit? | Dakota722 | For me it's a grouping of... Rattler Gray Henderson Williams Mims Stogner The versatility, speed, and ability to work at multiple levels is dangerous. |
General | Who has the better OU career, Billy Bowman or Jayda Coleman? | Dakota722 | Jayda Coleman, she may go down as a great. I mean hitting over .500, 6 HRs and 18 steals? That said, Bowman is very good, I just see less chance he's ELITE. |
General | Top 5 most important plays during Coach Riley's tenure (by whatever measure you want to use)? For example, if I were doing such a list for Coach Stoops's tenure, I might include Torrance Marshall's interception against A&M and the kickoff against Missouri on which DeMarco Murray got hurt as two of the plays on the list. | TrueBoomer | 1) I would say Dimitri Flowers' touchdown at Ohio State in 2017. It just felt like that was the moment everything got going and that offense realized 'oh we can handle this'. 2) Bonitto's INT against Baylor in Waco. 3)Tre Brown tracking down Chris Platt in the Big 12 CG. 4) Grant Calcaterra's touchdown catch against Texas. 5) Rodney Anderson's TD run against KSU. |
General | At what margin of victory/defeat do you consider to be a college football game to be a blowout if you only see the score of the game (ie, not taking into account games that are closer than the score indicates or not as close as the score indicates)? | TrueBoomer | I'd say, 35. 28 FEELS that way but I've just seen too many games that were fairly competitive and then two late touchdowns make it seem like something it wasn't. You can go from 28-14 to 42-14 in the blink of an eye. 35? You got drilled pretty good 99% of the time. |
General | How would you rank these QB's coming out of HS? Rattler Williams Malachi Nelson | SoonerThunder801 | Well Nelson JUST finished his sophomore season so we'll see but based on what I can know at this point... Williams Rattler Nelson Williams is tough as well because I didn't get the chance to see him due to covid. But the reviews I get from sources are...something. |
General | Also, wasn't it Wease that destroyed the then-#1 overall recruit and all-everything CB Derek Stingley, Jr. in one-on-ones ? Everyone kept pointing to that as evidence that he should be a 5 * WR...where did that guy go ? | BoomerSooner98x2 | He was unbelievable in one on ones that day. Just worked Stingley over repeatedly. With Theo I wonder if it was just a confdience deal last year because he showed he could get open and I've seen him catch too many times to think he can't. For some reason he was just never himself last year. |
General | when he does leave do we lose the momentum we have been building defensively? Recruiting and on field performance | dereksooner | It's hard to say, I think there is reason to believe they can build on it as I think they've got a REALLY good defensive staff and with the right choice as DC if you can keep a good portion of them together...big win. I think the question may be...who follows Grinch? |
General | Is there any chance the football p5 uses NIL as the reason to finally break from the NCAA? NCAA threw coronavirus protocols/scheduling over the fence to the conferences, and now they're throwing NIL over the fence. Not that anyone probably believed otherwise, but this is definitive proof they are adding zero value. | 6 hr energy | Oh I don't know if THAT is the straw that breaks the camel's back but I agree entirely (and have since 2010) that the end is in sight. |
General | What is joe c and ou's fundraising strategy for updates/new facilities? It always seems like ou is behind their peers and even schools a tier under then. Osu wants a new softball stadium and has an amazing new baseball stadium and we havent done much more than a facelift to anything outside of football and that's going on 5 years ago | BobStoopsBrokenPinky | I'd honestly have to defer that one a bit to @Carey Murdock. |
General | Do you think either (or both) of those moves screw us out of #8? Like... if this results in us having to see Broiles out on the field in real game situations... | sooner_steamroll | Oh, I doubt it because I'm guessing Mikey ends up being used pretty much the same and I see no way Broiles plays a prominent role. |
Personal | Most annoying toy(s) your girls have you wish they would lose interest in? | kip_winger | LOL dolls. I hate them so, so, so much. It's just random parts and every time they open them it's pounds of trash that they've cut into little pieces everywhere. I hate them. |
Personal | You can put in a train from Houston that can take you to any 3 places in the continental us in 1 hour but can only stop at those 3 places. What 3 places would you pick | SoonerCK1 | Seattle Boston Denver Three of my favorite places in the whole world, nice variety of foods, etc. And all COOL climates. |
Personal | How did you become interested in your field? Where were you before Scoop? And what was your alternative career/major you considered pursuing? | chrisgonz2018 | I was a student at OU and a member of the board (Back when it was called 'Ask Crabby') and had a login issue. I contacted Jeremy Crabtree, who ran the board at the time, and as we talked a bit he found out I was a JMC student and offered me a part time gig just doing interviews for him for Rivals. I wanted to work for the Rolling Stone but was more than happy to accept beer money. As time went on I started doing more write-ups and asked to take a more primary role here instead of just Rivals at large. As time went on I became the primary recruiting guy and when Crabby left for ESPN in 2010 Carey and I were given ownership of the site. |
Personal | Paper or plastic? | MMMoore | Plastic, for now. I've got a puppy...I need as much cleanup equipment as possible. |
Personal | How did you fall in love with Arsenal, and what do you think it would take for them to make another run at the top tier of football? (Yeah I called it football and not soccer come at me nerds) | Clay_Mitch95 | I moved in with my brother after he got back from the Navy, he's a HUGE Manchester United fan and in the summer of 2003 United and Arsenal were heavy favorites at the top of the league. Being the younger brother, and obnoxious human, that I am I chose Arsenal and of course...that was the year of the Invincibles. But I have to say, until Rooney DOOOOOOOOVE (COME AT ME MANCS) and ended the unbeaten streak I didn't know I loved the team. Since then, a few highs but so, so, so much pain. |
Personal | The Office or Parks and Rec? | melodicmarc | *I've NEVER watched parks and rec (and I've got NO GOOD REASON WHY) so I'm going with the office for sure. |
Personal | Outside of the brief stint w/ Theirry Henry, what other highs ? A few implies more than one... | BoomerSooner98x2 | I'd have to say the two 2-1 wins over Chelsea in the 2017 and 2020 FA cup finals would be there. The run the CL finals with Thierry was absolutely another. |
Personal | Watching Dennis Bergkamp play will be one of the joys of my life. I was an Arsenal fan before I was converted to Liverpool. To this day, he is the most majestic player I have ever seen. Must be how (really) olds feel about watching Cruyf. | OUBeliever | Still the greatest first touch I've ever seen... |
Portal | Hearing anything new on OU pursuing a transfer in the portal or a juco? | Okpreacher | So far, no, but I do know they hvae their eyes on a few positions like I've mentioned - TE, DE, and now you'd have to think RB as I think Woods was something of a Bridges replacement from the word go. |
Portal | You hearing any rb’s we might be looking to take in portal? | Sooners78 | At this point, no, I think they are waiting to see who announces in the coming weeks/months. |
Portal | In another thread someone said something about Justyn Ross transferring away from Clemson. And because that’s just an unsubstantiated rumor, my question is not “does OU have a chance”, but really why would a top player on a top team choose to leave? Is his health really a major problem now and how could that cause him to leave that situation at Clemson? | Clay_Mitch95 | I don't see that happening, at all. As far as why some might leave, better playing time, a change to an offense that doesn't fit them as well, etc. |
Portal | Let’s say I’m Tre Bradford. I’m considering entering the portal, and would love to go to OU. What are the chances OU takes me if I enter and reach out to them? | Justin5269 | I'd say 65%. I say that because I am NOT certain but I definitely get the chance it's a possibility. In the past I did NOT get that feeling and was pretty open with you all about that. |
Portal | Are you hearing drew sanders rumors? | Soonerfan60 | I'm checking around on a few things but I'm FAR from saying it's anything I trust. |
Recruiting | How should we measure success for the ChampU BBQ by class year? Is it a certain number of commits for the 22 class? Building momentum with certain kids in 23? | mtsooner_ou | It will be all about the whole body of work. I mean if OU misses out on many of it's 2022 visitors, that's disappointing but if Innis, Lemon, Renaud, and Nelson all say 'that was the moment I decided OU was for me'. That's pretty hard to call a failure, no? But I mean I think you'll want to see some momentum come out of that - at least 2-3 commits (in any class) - and then have guys talking about 'being near a choice', 'I think I know what I want to do', etc. |
Recruiting | Class Ranking for 2022...you have to bet $1000 of your own cash...(a) rank 1-3, 10-1 odds, (b) rank 4-6, 5-1, (c) rank 7-10, 1-1...where you place your bet...one bet only. | 92 grad | 1. B. |
Recruiting | Would landing Malachi in July help keep guys like Brown & Burden for 22? Does he have that type of clout? | ATXSooner85 | We'd have to see but I know it wouldn't hurt. I mean especially with Raleek being SoCal guys together and him having plenty of rep that Raleek will have/can hear about. |
Recruiting | Top 10 high school pipelines for talent? Regardless of location, level, etc. Winning high school games doesn’t matter. Just what ten high schools you would say are the best at producing talent year after year? | JordanWallace | Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei Baltimore (Mary.) St. Frances Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Galena Park (Texas) North Shore Duncanville, Texas Loganville (Ga.) Grayson Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph's Prep |
Recruiting | With Barnes trending to usc where do they look next at RB? | Sooner_in_Seattle | I don't think they are going too crazy and seem to believe in their chances with Barnes. |
Recruiting | Also, best receiver prospect out of these four? Haselwood Egbuka Burden Innis | thetraviswilson | I go back and forth but I'd probably take Egbuka, I just love how smooth and easy his speed and separation is. He uses his body well, etc., etc. |
Recruiting | Kanijal Thomas- Del City. Is he OU good? | HDG21 | I think he could be but the problem is he isn't the world's biggest guy, VERY similar in size to Tre Brown. He's about the same height as Lorenzell Dubose but isn't quite as long armed. But he's very good, natural and instinctual cover corner. |
Recruiting | Name a few schools that OU needs to build better relationships in order to get more high end recruits. | Riley_Reign_17 | I think North Shore is something that OU needs to mend, too big of a program for them to have almost no role there. The other, to me would be St. John Bosco. They've struggled to really get their foot in the door there. |
Recruiting | How does Hasz compare to the TE on board (Llewellyn) and Helms out of Nebraska. | ammo_u | Much more like Helms, he's a receiver first. Helms is a bit longer and a little more fluid but I'm not sure he's as gifted as a pure receiver as Hasz is - LH's natural instinct in space is outstanding. Llewellyn is a big bodied guy who excels as a blocker but I think flashes good hands and can develop in that arena. |
Recruiting | Scoop on Friday mentioned that OU was looking at Myles Pollard, one of the cbs and molding him into a safety. Has that shift in strategy changed where OU stands with him? | Kritifer | No, because I think it's a bit open ended, it's just my expectation they'll tell him 'corner is where you can start but safety may be an early entrance to the field', etc. |
Recruiting | Who is the biggest surprise commit as a result of the bbq? | Kritifer | Over time? I'm going to go with Treyaun Webb...I've just got a sneaky feeling. |
Recruiting | Do we have any real chance with the likes of Devon CBandoOUampbell and Harold Perkins or is their "interest" more for the twitter likes and retweets? | BandoOU | Perkins would be more like the concern you're expressing. With Campbell I think they've got a chance but there's no question that Texas is a real contender with him. |
Recruiting | Are there any players in 2022 that right now you are surprised/shocked that OU is non currently involved with? Either due to fit or your info on their interest level in OU, or both. | atlantasooner | I just love Jamarion Miller's burst in space and it feels like OU should have more backup plans than we're seeing. I've also said that the lack of consistent interest in Jaylen Sneed has been interesting. Kelvin Banks...I'm not over it, I'll never get over it. |
Recruiting | 3 prospects for 2023 that you are shocked do not already have OU offers. Click to expand… | atlantasooner | Anthony James, Lewis Carter, Markis Deal |
Recruiting | What's the best comment you ever heard from a recruit? What was the payout? | KayakTulsa | R.J. Washington and Lewis Baker talking about ANY school other than OU. You can look through their old stories, just burning down OU EVERY chance they got. Payout? Laughter. |
Recruiting | What's the worst thing you ever said to a recruit? What was the fallout? | KayakTulsa | Always this one, James Carpeneter, OL that went to Alabama and end up a first round pick of the Seahawks. I asked him about a trip and he came back pretty pissed off that I didn't have it noted in front of me. "Aren't you supposed to be a reporter? I already took that trip." "Yeah, that's my bad man, I had it marked as another weekend." "It's whatever man, let's get on with this." So from there...yeah, it went pretty awesome. |
Recruiting | Has there been a pole assassin sighting?!? I struck out on my trip to Austin. | curhtova | We've got @Eddie_Rado with his ear to the ground and dollar bills out. |
Recruiting | If Haselwood & Wease don’t put it all together this year, how badly does that hurt WR recruiting going forward (especially the 5*’s)? | sooner_steamroll | Oh, I don't think it kills you or anything because it's not like OU hasn't been putting out first rounders at WR, but you're dead on that schools will tell kids 'you saw what happened there' and for a few kids, I'm sure it will cause some pause. But I mean what school can't say 'yeah that 5-star didn't go to plan'? |
Recruiting | With Dindy planning to decide around signing day, do you consider McClellan one of the more important recruits in the class? So should Dindy choose elsewhere it doesn’t leave us without an interior lineman in the class? | eric_lewis66 | Yeah, I don't think McClellan is a secondary option, or he shoulnd't be. We'll see how that plays out but I'm guessing how he is looked at changes over the months. |
Recruiting | Can OU take Bledsoe, McClellan and Didny in the same class? | eric_lewis66 | I think they can and should do all that they can to try and make that happen. You just don't get that many shots at elite DL talent. |
Recruiting | How do the coaches navigate with recruits knowing there is a good chance grinch leaves in the near future or does it just not get brought up at all | dereksooner | Oh I don't think there is a lot to be done, it's just kind of 'he's very highly paid, among the best in the country and just said he wants THIS job more than a HC job'. |
Recruiting | Any status update on Gentry and Dindy? | melodicmarc | Nothing huge, I'll try and catch up with both this week and we'll see what they have to say. |
Recruiting | Rank the defensive line recruits in terms of likelihood to sign with OU, from best to worst prospects in your opinion, and athleticism/potential (Dindy, Abor, Moore, McClelln, Bledsoe, and anyone else you think I am missing) | melodicmarc | Likelihood to sign: Dindy Moore Mclellan Bledsoe Abor Jackson Athleticism/potential: Dindy Bledsoe Moore Abor Mclellan Jackson |
Recruiting | What gives OU a bigger boost in recruiting over the next 3 years: making it to the natty this year or having Rattler Winfrey Bonitto Haselwood all be 1st round picks in 2022 NFL draft | Willnarramore | I'd say the natty because if you ge tthere, the other likely happens anyway. Bonitto and Winfrey would say a lot of evidence for official change. |
Recruiting | I still can't believe w/ DeMarco Murray and his LV connections (I know it's not BG for Barnes, but still), this is even a thing. How do we not already have Barnes locked in ? This is like the exact, perfect scenario for _why_ Murray was hired as RB coach in the first place, right ? If not the Dallas area name cachet, at least the LV one right ? | BoomerSooner98x2 | I thought too much was taken for granted as a recruiter when he was hired. Don't get me wrong, I still think he can be a good one but but people don't realize how dogged it is landing ELITE guys. You've got to be in constant contact. |
Recruiting | Do you see the staff pushing harder for commits earlier this year to avoid a repeat of the end of year strike out from last year - particularly at positions where we are in on a lot of elite guys (d line, running back). | 6 hr energy | I mean yes but I think it's going to be largely a return to their normal operating procedure. Oklahoma, under Riley, has always had a few positions where they made it plain to players that a decision need to be reached or they would have to move on. |
Recruiting | What’s the bigger hinderance in recruiting for OU; location (Oklahoma) or the big 12 conference? Is there something else you’d put above either of these? | KeepPreachin | As someone else said above, I think there are some others that are more important but amongst those two I think location is absolutely the harder fight with Oklahoma pursuing so many elite guys nationwide. |
Roster | Who “should” be the starting secondary vs who will be come game 1? | willemark01 | Should: CB - Washington CB - Graham NB - Bowman S - DTY S - Lawrence Will be: CB - Washington CB - Graham NB - Criddell S - DTY S - Fields |
Roster | Harrington Ceiling? | cartercole28 | It's so hard to gauge, I feel like he's a Donte Nicholson type of player (maybe a little more juice) BUT if he isn't pushing for the safety spot...I have to be off, right? I mean, early on the talk of him was HUGE and then he moves to corner. It just doesn't make sense. |
Roster | Top-5 highest drafted players from the current roster regardless of class, in order & pick #! | 92 grad | C. Williams - 1 Rattler - 3 C. Smith - 11 Winfrey - 16 Bonitto - 23 |
Roster | Does Bridges, Wease, and Haselwood not panning out so far, say more about being overrated or OU not developing them? | Jacque | Probably a bit overrated. Now Haselwood, I don't think he was overrated at all, he's just had trouble staying healthy - just some bad luck. Wease is the toughest one for me to gauge as I've always felt he was immensely talented but I rarely saw him take over games and that, at the time, felt like an issue with his offensive system. For example, I remember their state quarters game against Waco Midway his senior year and they ran ran ran and couldn't pull away from Midway. They go to Theo twice and he scores twice and then the floodgates open and they win 51-7. |
Roster | 1-10 chances that Jordan Mukes gets to the Bonitto/Thomas/Asamoah level after going through the steps that got those players to a high level 2+ years in the program? | kip_winger | 6. I think he can, and man he shows a willingness to work so I think it's just about how far his athleticism can take him. He's got some RARE skills but it's just processing information football is still such a thing for him to learn at this point. |
Roster | If they knew their draft position but not their team, would any of Creed, Perk or Dre have come back IYO? | ATXSooner85 | Nah, I think they all knew they'd done what they could do. I don't think any of them were going WAY above where they were slotted as all had one limitation or another as far as their projectable skills. Creed's just largely being 'what was he going to put on tape that people hadn't seen?'. |
Roster | Grade the depth on defense by position. Please. | z-46n2-ou | DT: B (solid group, one elite, several solid NFL depth guys IMO). DE: B (Better overall depth but lacks an ELITE guy IMO). RUSH: A+ (Elite guy, elite young star, and solid depth) LB: B+ (GREAT depth, maybe best position on the team but do they have an ELITE guy? We'll find out) CB: A- (I started to go much lower but I LOVE the two starters and think McCutchin may end up better than both. To forget a experienced vet and Kendall Dennis making a lot of plays) S: C+ (Veteran starters, some quality young talent that needs to start taking snaps away from those starters if it's what we think it is, could move up considerably if Lawrence, Mukes, Washington, etc. make a move). |
Roster | I'm sure Lincoln will have Mims and Mario on the field at the same time now and then, hopefully opening up space for other guys, as well as stressing the backend of the defense. I've heard some say the Mike Woods transfer has speed too. It got me thinking, what kind of 40's do these receivers actually run? Mim: Williams: Woods: Wease: Haselwood: Stoops: If you have solid testing numbers on some of them, that'd be great, otherwise an estimation/guess would suffice. | Sooner Showtime | Mims: 4.44 Williams: 4.46 Woods: 4.61 (obviously not as versed but a guess...) Wease: 4.54 Haselwood: 4.49 Stoops: 4.66 |
Roster | Any update on Theo Wease? | thetraviswilson | Nothing so far, I got the impression they are trying to be very patient with him. I don't know that it's concern so much as just trying to make sure he gets back to full speed. |
Roster | Why does T. Robinson constantly get ragged on by people on this board, while M. Hayes seems to get a pass from everyone for less than stellar play? | HDG21 | I think largely because while both were bad, Hayes rounded into form a bit through the year. With Robinson it just seemed like a struggle from beginning to end. And so much of it was issues with moving his feet and just not being well conditioned. I feel like a lot of Hayes' errors came from effort - it's just more easily forgiveable. |
Roster | What is key component to get Oklahoma’s Offensive Line back to Joe Moore consideration. | Riley_Reign_17 | I think you've got to have continuity. It's really that simple because I believe in the talent but the bottom line is that the guys just aren't working well enough together yet. The pieces are there, the sum of those pieces isn't adding to much. |
Roster | Which 2021 recruit has the best NFL career? | 33rdSooner | Pretty hard to argue against Caleb Williams. He feels like a dude that could be a No. 1 pick. |
Roster | I know the game itself doesn’t mean a ton but It really looked to me like Grimes had taken some steps forward both physically and just cleaning up a bit what he could have improved on last year. From what you’ve seen and what you’ve heard so you believe he is progressing appropriately? Seems like a guy that could have top 3 round potential is the production comes together in the future. | Boomer45Bama31 | I agree COMPLETELY. I thought he was one of the guys that really flashed and hasn't gotten enough credit as of yet. I thought he was looking much better in the run game and his length and speed are things you earmark as potentially proficient pass rush assets. |
Roster | I don’t remember what episode it was but Teddy had said on his pod that right now Ethan Downs is a better player than Clayton Smith. That is insane right? I didn’t see that from watching the game at all and the film between the two isn’t really comparable either to me? Is this just trying to pump up the Oklahoma kid or did you see that too when you saw both of them live? | Boomer45Bama31 | Someone brought that up to me and I'll admit, it surprised me too. That being said, it's probably accurate. Downs is more physically developed and as such more able to hold up in the run game. Smith is a bit one dimensional right now. But to me part of what they are in the spring is ALSO about the potential they show. I mean at THAT moment, Downs is more prepared to go. But I don't see how anyone sees them moving around and expects that to hold through the season. Time will tell though. |
Roster | What current OU players are you keeping an eye on thinking they may hit the transfer portal before July 1 | Honolulu_Sooner82 | Wete and Simpson are the two that make some sense to me. |
Roster | How much is Harrington being ‘moved’ to CB (if he was ever technically a safety to begin with) and Mikey moving to RB “appeasement” vs a “bona fide move”? If it’s a bona fide move for each of them, how screwed are we at each position they’d be best at and will it cost us #8 this year? Lincoln’s quote about being able to move Broiles around has me terrified about him seeing the field again. | sooner_steamroll | I think Mikey is a clear 'keep him happy' kind of move. Harrington, he and I used to speak and I don't remmeber him ever telling me 'I've got to get a shot at corner!' or anything along those lines. Neither move makes any sense to me. |
Roster | Do you see Rowe starting at nickel/safety and transitioning to LB over time or is he just too athletic and will eventually put on too much muscle weight to just have him start at LB? | jghafil | I think the idea he's just headed to LB is crazy town. He's just a big, long athlete who runs as well as anyone in OU's secondary right now. Why would you move him to LB? I think nickel could be great or safety. |
Roster | Higher floor/ceiling for these groups of players: Mukes and Rowe Grimes and Gilliam Graham McCutchin Asamoah Stutsman Cody Jackson Jordan Hudson | Willnarramore | 1) Rowe 2) Grimes 3) McCutchin 4) Stutsman 5) Hudson |
