Cancelled Game Should Benefit OU

ISU blows out WVU and OU struggled vs Baylor. Neither team is playing this weekend so they can focus on each other for the Big XII Championship game. I would much rather have a bye week coming off a close, hard-fought win than a blowout because which team do you think is going to be more motivated? On top of that, ISU beat OU so there is double motivation.

Well, we'll see if the cyclones can handle the "spotlight". Every mic and every camera will be focused on them. Who knows if they can handle it. We've been here before.
 
Players have to be going bonkers. Quite often I see coaches over coaching and too much prep can be a hindrance. Supposedly we were practicing well before the Peach Bowl. Hope this does not end a repeat. Though the Clones do have recognizable weaknesses to expose next Sat. I have watched their games on You Tube from this year.
 
I think we needed the WVU game. I thought our sluggish performance on O vs Baylor was directly attributable to the layoff, especially the 5 days we were literally shut down. The O-line is the most affected. No unit is more syncronized and more in need of real game reps.

Personally, I think the layoff had nothing to do with the poor performance against Baylor. I think it had more to do with coaches being out due to covid and the fact we were playing a team with only 2 wins. Kind of hard to get motivated for that. In fact, I would not be surprised if some of the practice time before Baylor was dedicated to West Virginia. Motivation won't be a problem against ISU.

don't forget aranda coaches baylor. he was one of the architects of our dismal showing against lsu last year and likely carried that experience into the game

Coaches being out are part of my reasoning. I do think Aranda is part of it.
