As I've said on another thread on this board, OSU has speed, talent, and lack of experience. It means game to game, quarter to quarter, play to play, you could get great plays and Oh (pick you expletive).
44 scholarship players have never played an away game in college. That could be a factor.
Regarding The Tulsa game, it was just weird. Although the sun was shining in the first half, it was extremely windy. OSU had bad field position most of the first half which effected some of the offensive calls. The Tulsa offensive line was doing a lot of trap blocking which worked until the coaches were able to make adjustments at half time and it made a difference.
In the first game of the year OSU looked really explosive, last week due to field position in the first half and weather in the second half they played more conservative.
Before the season started I thought OSU would lose. After the first game of the season I thought they might have a chance to win. Now I have no idea. If the Buckeyes play well and are able to utilize the experience to better themselves like they did in the Virginia Tech in 2014, I'd be ok with a loss as a fan.
Like in 2014 if a loss makes them better prepared for a run in the Big 10 for a possible playoff bid, I think most OSU fans would take that.
