So this is what I believe the situation to be as it stands right now:

I believe the Big 12 is just going to go ahead and release a schedule tonight. Which is a massive win for all of our hopes to see college football this year.

Now, I don't expect the Big 12 to release anything that states they will play a season or that they are locked in to anything. I think they purposefully will leave it open-ended for many reasons.

Mostly so they can continue to send the message that they want to wait as long as possible to make any adjustments should more information come in that helps them making even better decisions.

So why do I believe this is a massive win? Because I was also told that the Big 12 had two options for how this was going to go tonight.

1) They release a schedule for the season.
or
2) They cancel fall sports

From everything I'm hearing, the Big 12 will not be cancelling fall sports and will be releasing a schedule tonight.

Then they continue moving forward with plans to play a season. They can continue monitoring things (how many players are being infected, if anyone has to shut down practices, does anyone get really sick, etc.)

And they don't have to look like a swing vote and be the ones that cause or don't cause college football to be played.

We'll see if it all ends up playing out this way. But there is probably still about an hour left of the board meetings and then the athletic directors are scheduled to meet at 8pm tonight.
